.. if it was idiots from Michigan, Michigan State, or some local idiots messing around.  Until they know for sure who did it, it just looks like it was walvies, scUM, *aggots, or whatever it is the Spartans are calling us while they tell us to "stay classy."  It could be anyone, taking advantage of the situation to have some fun.

Be honest. We had some fun with it earlier but the Magic statue deal was a dumbass move and who ever did sucks and should feel bad about themselves. (My number 1 suspect is that Gotti mac and cheese ass-clown from UConn).

Costello had the most level-headed response out of anyone.  Pretty interesting since he's a role player in college while Izzo is A MAN (above 40) and is a coach.

Magic has been dead for only a few year now and......huh? He's alive? Well, it's he doing ok? Holy shit! A BILLION dollars!? And his health? Excellent? Nice. So, all msu really lost is a custodial 20 mins and a couple pints of turpentine. I don't see this as being anything beyond sophomoric college behavior. I'll move on.

The Sparty statue was painted maize and blue the night before the Oregon game. They guard the statue for M because of course they do. Put two and two together this is bogus b.s.

First, vandalism is bad.  Stop doing it.

As to Izzo - he was asked a question about it.  What do you expect him to say?  He was meassured, stated that both sides have idiots and that it is bad to vandalize things.  There is really nothing to see here.

He thinks it's more disrespect to the person than the school... That I can see his point. How would we feel if they did that to the Bo statue...? We gotta not let our rivalry get to auburn/Alabama stupid levels

It's a nuisance, and it is vandalism and shouldn't be done, but otherwise, what is the big deal?  It's not like someone burned the union down.  Throwing paint or piss or whatever on a statue of Bo does nothing to tarnish his memory or what he means to the school or anyone of us individually.  It's just a symbol.  He may mean a lot to us, but it's on a college campus and it's a symbol of the college.  That alone is going to make it a target.  Same thing with their statue.  If you don't want it to be a target, you don't put it up there on the campus as a symbol of college pride.

If there is ever a statue of me on campus, let them come with their paint.  That's right, I am Michigan.  Come at me.

of an illiterate local Lansing lad who spent two years at MSU before dropping out.

Yeah, I can see how vandalizing it cuts to the heart of what it means to be a Sparty..

I don't like that our kids did this. If it were Bo, we would be pissed. If you can't get to their statue, wait, keep waiting. But 100k block M on tons of other shit. The Magic think is frankly lazy, and we shouldn't have done it. Win the game

I do not know anything about a statue defacement, and I am not clicking on a Free Press article to find about what Izzo thinks about it, or anthing else for that matter.

Who on earth would be in favor of such ridiculousness?

Who is responsible?  If and when they find them, they should be prosecuted.  If M fans, then they represented us very badly.  If just local hooligans, then who really is surprised?  It's Lansing.

Clean up the statue and move on.
