Who is Michigan’s best QB of the last twenty years? Let me give you some stats. You tell me which of these is Ramsey.

Player A: 2743 yards/6.9 ypa/25 tds/12 ints/60.2% completion

Player B: 2875 yards/6.4 ypa/19 tds/13 ints/66% completion

Player C: 2600 yards/8.0 ypa/22 tds/7 ints/64.6 % completion

Player D: 3331 yards/7.3 ypa/24 tds/10 ints/59.2% completion

Player E: 3017 yards/7.8 ypa/20 tds/9 ints/64% completion

Player F: 3563 yards/6.8 ypa/28 tds/14 ints/58.4% completion.

I am wondering if you made a top 5 out of these 6 who you would leave out. One of these is Ramsey. Four of them are Michigan QBs going back to Navarre. And one of them is an active QB who has played in the Super Bowl and was a transfer. The numbers are his numbers the year he decided to transfer. He did not play for Michigan.

I am not advocating for Ramsey in any way. But it seems like some people here think he’s way worse than anything Michigan should have. In fact his lowest completion percentage over three years at IU was 65.4. Every other season was higher. A few of those of some of Michigan’s best QB seasons in the last twenty years and they don’t even hit 65% completion. He’s never been below that mark.

I know which one it is. He cut way down on interceptions this past season. I wouldn't mind if he was here. Though at some point, Dylan McCaffrey has to be full time. But his upper body is so skinny, I am concerned about injury again. If I could have my druthers, I would take Ramsey immediately for 2nd string, behind McCaffrey. I'd be feeling a lot better about things.

We should not look at every single guy in the transfer portal.  Give it a rest.  If the QB’s on our roster can’t beat out Peyton Ramsey, our QB recruiting is terrible.  No disrespect to Peyton Ramsey.

Why would anyone leave IU to go to MSU?   Their football program is a tire fire and despite being a decent school, IU has a better business school and I'm guessing law and med...  Is he a journalism major?

I'm sure he can do fine.  The problem is fine is not good enough.  McCaffrey & Milton can also do fine, but both probably have higher ceilings.  I do think he's tough and like him.  But, I doubt he'd come to UM with an uphill battle to playing time.  I'd have to assume that's why he's leaving IU.

??? Which measurable concerns you most?
Is 6’5” and 235 lbs too big?
Do you not like cannon arms on your QBs? You like a firm noodle with great  “touch”?
Is his obvious speed vs. 3 of our last QBs distressing you? You more of a “bail late and get knocked over by a stiff wind” guy?

I get that his accuracy might be questionable but we’re used to that. Shea missing deep open WRs 3 times a game was fun!

Maybe his decision making is untested and you don’t trust it. I could see that. But I wonder if he would continue to miss read the DE in zone reads 90% of the times it’s called for 2 full seasons?

Milton might be unteachable. IDK if that’s the case or not but what I do know is that his measurable’s are better than anybody we’ve had since??? And that alone merits the effort in developing what can be made. Like it or not he has 10x the chance to become an NFL QB than Shea. They don’t even look at an arm like Sheas any more at the NFL level. Imagine how Aaron Rogers playbook would look if he had Sheas arm.  Give me the high ceiling from now on and keep the 5’11’s on the scout team.

Can we not give the guys Harbaugh actually recruited a chance?

At this point, I think it’s time to see what guys like McCaffery and Milton can do. Harbaugh has gone five years here, and in that time, a QB he actually recruited has only started four games. A lot of QB recruits might sit there at one point and ask why they should come here if Harbaugh isn’t going to trust them and keeps bringing in transfers to do the job.
