It's a beautiful summer evening, what are you drinking?

Submitted by SanDiegoWolverine on July 28th, 2023 at 7:32 PM

Well, you're not going to get a snazzy intro about life on the farm but I think we can all agree summer evenings are a time to rejoice. College football starts in 28 days but plenty of fun to be had in the meantime. What's everyone up to tonight? Drinks? BBQ? Family plans? I'm enjoying a pint of a hoppy lager right by the beach. Hope all is well.

DTE is definitely one of those companies where the execs/higher ups are universally hated by the customers for all their bullshit, but all the workers (particularly the line workers) are largely respected.

On a related note, my dad was a lineman for DTE for like 35 years. When he died, the union sent us a nice note offering their condolences and my understanding is that they had a moment of silence for him at their meeting. It was very touching in a difficult time.

Underappreciated yes, underpaid, hopefully not. My father had cancer and lost his life to suicide a couple Christmases ago, but he made good money because of the IBEW. In fact, he helped negotiate the union contract that leads to my mother being taken care of by his pension 12 years after retirement. Not a day goes by that I don't appreciate what I was given.

There's no set time. It's about baseline moisture content and relative humidity. Furthermore, engineered hardwood has come a long way is extremely forgiving.

Perfect conditions are the exception more than the rule - you just don't install wood shipped from another state same-day inside a sauna and you'll generally be fine.

Double Two Hearted.  I don’t actually like it that much but it’s free.

(I adore the original, really not sure why they made this.  Feels like a gimmick)

It's pretty hot here and we're having a game night with some friends. My dog is asleep next to me and I'm enjoying a cold drink of vodka and coke, but I might have a little tequila later.

Still feels like 102 in Chicagoland at this hour. Having a goose island full docket (although I like to switch it up, maybe a Stella next).

Been a long week, ready to unwind!

Champagne is my drink of choice, so it's High Life for right now.

I picked up a bottle of Hibiki Japanese Harmony Master's Select at the Duty Free on my way across Canada (recommendation of some tourists that were stocking up). Thinking about giving it a shot tonight. Has anyone tried it?

Water.  I actually went and bought the beer and had one opened, and then screwed the lid back on.

12 days.  This shit sucks (but is awesome at the same time).

I'm at my chill-out spot, the 3 Needs, having a pint of Switchback. It's a pleasant evening, and I'm feelin' fine, in no small part because deregulation means I can smoke a joint here on the outdoor deck. Thinking about hitting the jazz club soon..

Diet Mountain Dew. Smoking lava cake. Just ate 200mg of blue razz flavored chewii flight gummies. The ones with the nerds in them.

The wife and I ate 2 hits of acid apiece the other night and I had more fun than I've had in years.

I don't do acid very often anymore. Maybe once or twice a year. Shrooms on the other hand, well I enjoy those quite often.

Honestly I prefer tripping as an adult. I'm so much more comfortable with who I am as a person so things don't ever get dark. It's basically just hours of laughter.

I'd recommend it.
