This sounds like nothing more than a devious way of getting around NCAA rules about feeding recruits and their families.

Over at Black Heart Gold Pants, there was this rather bitter soul:

"Frozen custard sucks."

This was, of course, followed by a defense of frozen custard and a compliment to Culver's brand in particular. A #B1G argument indeed.

I have family members that are in the process of opening one in Livonia...should be open in another month or so.  It is significantly cheaper than the other fast food franchises and they had significantly more say so in the design (interior and exterior).  The last time I was in Michigan they were going through all the desgin samples at their house.  Pretty cool.  I think they will do very well in that location.  They do have some tasty items and tend to be a little more dine in oriented than McD's, BK and the others.

the whole AIRBHG thing is one big insurance fraud ring. No one really tore their ACLs but they did collect millions in medical insurance money...all to get an unlimited supply of that sweet delicious Culver's.

Putting the Culver's right in Iowa City immediately would be far too suspicious. No, they needed to start their butter burger empire far away from Iowa City (but not so far that the coaches can't make a burger run after away games at Purdue or Indiana). As more running backs 'tear their ACLs' they can expand their empire and slowly move back toward Iowa City with them. Ultimately, they'll demolish the north endzone seats at Kinnick Stadium and put a giant Culver's there so they can have an unlimited supply of that delicious cholesterol.

I'm on to you Kirk

Wisconsin last summer to play in a golf tournament, and on the first day a guy I was playing with (he was from Chicago, I'm from SEC-land) said I had to try this Culver's place. In the next 5 days I was in Wisconsin, I ate there 6 times. It's so good. So I don't blame this guy. We need more Culver's in the south. It's so good.

There is also one on Jackson Road in Ann Arbor, I believe, as well as one in Taylor, Westland and Livonia. I can't think of any others, but those are locations that I have seen in my travels. I've only heard of another mentioned in passing, but I wouldn't doubt there is one in the Novi area just because of Twelve Oaks and the population in that part of the suburbs -  I don't know specifically where though.

I usually hit the one on, I think, 12 mile and John R. I enjoyed my first Culver burger at the Star John R. My girl put our burgers in her purse when we went to see ''Project X.''
