So who's the #2 at QB? Should've ask sooner but I honestly don't know. Bowman is whom I'm most comfortable with but Davis Warren has a closer game to JJ. Orji hasn't really thrown.

Like Cade and JJ, Bowman and Warren each got a crack at third string.  Bowman came in during the Colorado State game.  Warren came in during the Hawaii game.

If healthy, I'd bet Bowman has the edge.  He threw for over 5,000 yards at a 67% completion percentage with 33 TDs (and 17 INTs) at a Big 12 school.

I dont think there's an order after Cade. They all have such different characteristics and none stands out as a clearly a better QB.  It would come down to game situation really.  Maybe Bowman if I had to pick one but Orji and Davis Warren both could easily get the snaps if QB mobility is important to the game situation.

In 2018 there was an NCAA medical redshirt rule change. According to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, Scott Young, “the NCAA has two requirements for a medical redshirt; the injury must have occurred in the first half of the season, and the athlete must have competed in less than 30 percent of the season. You must provide documentation of the injury, and it must be considered season-ending.”

Not sure why it's not in the report but I strained my thumb playing basketball

I wont need it to operate the remote for the Michigan game, but I may be limited for the all the other great games in the afternoon.  I'll play hurt and my beer arm is still 100%

I feel like All is done for the year (Balas report, he didn't say All by name but it had to have been All, Keegan or Zinter and the two OL are back healthy), but they keep listing him as gamesmanship.

Interesting that Cade is OUT (and not doubtful). I heard he's aiming to come back after the BYE against MSU.

Hasn't All been practicing with limited contact?  I find it hard to believe that anyone who is still practicing in any capacity would be done for year (especially a guy who is headed to the NFL).

My guess is that he's back for MSU.

All's situation has seemed weird to me. To start with, it surprised me he came back this year, since he really should have been on the NFL's radar screen after some of the stuff he did last year. I would have guessed his injury last year also would have give him some impetus to start getting paid NFL money. But that didn't happen.

Then there's this rumor that some mysterious player has a season-ending injury, and some Internet detectives decided, without any substantive confirmation, that it must be All. Last I heard, Harbaugh refuses to say anything about All's injury or status. All just isn't playing. I'd guess it's just gamesmanship, but ever since Dylan McCaffery's adventure, I've worked under the assumption that some of these guys are missing games for other reasons that are, well, none of my business. It's annoying as a fan, but it really is none of my business.

Did we ever hear what happened to NHG? I thought I remember reading that they were holding him out of the UConn (?) game as a precaution, but he could have played if needed. And yet a month later he's still out. Would love to get him back; our LB play seems like our biggest weakness right now.

I've sadly already mentally penciled in All as done for the year based on the rumors we heard, although I guess if he did somehow come back before the end of the year that would be a pleasant surprise. And not super surprised if Jones doesn't play this week with the way he was rolled up on. Hopefully we can get by PSU and have NHG, Jones and Cade back by MSU...

Man I hate hearing about those in sports.  I feel like hamstring injuries take months to completely go away.  During a season a player could be out for weeks then suddenly feel pain-free, play through it, then reaggravate it and be out for another month.  So frustrating.

Nah, obvious plan is obvious. Hold out NHG all year. Create the only weak point in your defense, convincing your opponents to plan to exploit it. Do just enough to win all year. Then, hours before kickoff vs OSU in Columbus, unveil your fully weaponized NHG in all his glory, unleashing hell against Ryan Day’s Buckeyes as an entire season of planning for the Michigan game blows up in their faces. OSU loses 42-27 again, Ryan Day is fired, OSU fails to step in shit with their new coaches, leading to an unending string of 8+ loss seasons until the heat death of the Earth as the sun swallows our planet destroying all life as we know it, a death so savage and complete that it might as well be someone trying to tackle Blake Corum.

The fact that both of those threads about Cade’s injury were deleted by the mods tells us everything we need to know about their veracity (note: 100% true).
