can be attributed to Adidas jerseys!
Adidas jerseys are bad juju.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:37 PM ^
Wow. I'm happy I'm not the only one who thought about this.
January 3rd, 2011 at 12:33 AM ^
I started a relationship in 2008 and I am with the same woman to this date...did our relationship create a jinx over this football program?!

M won't be sweet until my house is no longer under water. Book it. Inside sources. Guaranteed.
January 3rd, 2011 at 7:26 AM ^
Well, shit, then we're screwed. Trust me.
January 3rd, 2011 at 12:58 AM ^
there's only one way to tell...
if you're still with her come september, we'll be outside your door with the torches.
January 3rd, 2011 at 1:09 AM ^
.. this woman
... or the storied Michigan football program
Choose wisely
January 3rd, 2011 at 7:25 AM ^
I can tell you're over 30 because you started a relationship with a woman in 2008, not started banging this broad in 2008.

BINGOOOO
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:08 PM ^
Nike Pro Combat Uni's, on the other hand...you really want to see Michigan wearing those things?
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:09 PM ^
to mess around with the traditional jerseys.
They can mess with Oregon all they want.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
They turned tOSU into the Fightin' Cherry Popsicles this year. I'd rather not risk any contact with Nike.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:21 PM ^
doing the whole retro thing around the globe.
In European soccer too - they did some hideous jerseys ... guess their new creative director had a brain fart.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:38 PM ^
That was the best comment I've read in any post tonite.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:47 PM ^
Those were almost exact replicas of the 1942 Ohio State jerseys. Nike didn't really mess with the design much with the OSU ones.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:51 PM ^
But they were still very, very ugly. (And does it really make sense to honor a team's 68th anniversary?)
January 3rd, 2011 at 12:59 AM ^
seriously. why come that close without celebrating 69?
January 3rd, 2011 at 1:41 AM ^
They haven't touched Oklahoma's. They're not touching ours.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
Yeah I would actually, I believe some of the players probably would too after they got done suffocating due to the ingenious "TechFit" uniforms provided by Adidas.
January 3rd, 2011 at 7:52 AM ^
I thought there was an article on how Nike said that PSU uniforms were a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10 and PSU said "How can we be a zero", Then PSU told Nike to pack sand on the Pro-Combat uniforms. Just what I heard, and I'm sure UM would say the same thing.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:13 PM ^
solved
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:14 PM ^
I'd be okay with a switch to UA.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:34 PM ^
Definitely "most preferred" status with UA over Auburn, South Carolina, Temple, Utah, Hawaii, Boston College, South Florida and the University of Western Ontario.
Protect this [Big] House.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:17 PM ^
I miss Nike. Stuff was just better. Not to mention just classic.
Adidas is also know as bad luck. We are proof of that and so are these teams.
ND
Nebraska until the last few seasons
Tenn
Michigan
UCLA
Also no we can't dump them.... Eight year contract.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:50 PM ^
Wisconsin seems to be doing fine wearing Adidas. Mississippi State, too.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:51 PM ^
Is that the exception that proves the rule? The Badgers' adidas contract coincides with one of their winningest periods in the modern era.
January 3rd, 2011 at 5:09 AM ^
great post.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
TCU hated the cleates they were forced to wear in the Rose Bowl. They were slipping all over in the first half. Athletic tape helped in the second half by covering the smooth parts under the shoe.
Lets not be subject to that. Or Pro Combat Unis
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^
Can they at least fix the highlighter-yellow "maize"?
January 3rd, 2011 at 3:54 AM ^
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:54 PM ^
And even that one is boring and all around not super great.
January 3rd, 2011 at 5:07 AM ^
"PITCH THE DAMN BALL TO ME, TYLER!"
January 3rd, 2011 at 5:10 AM ^
loved that jersey
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:34 PM ^
If Harbaugh is roaming the sidelines in Adidas gear coaching us next year.
GO BLUE!!
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:34 PM ^
Adidas had to call it something else. I would like to see us go back to Nike as well. No team wearing Adidas has ever won the MNC. That little fact aside, I liked the general Nike stuff better.
As far as their changing the unis all the time. I imagine the school has the right to keep things as they want them. tOSU is just getting on the Oregon/Nike bandwagon.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:38 PM ^
Nike actually has a patent on their color "Maize"
Link or GTFO.
January 3rd, 2011 at 12:04 AM ^
I remember that now, although they didn't copyright Maize itself...
Via Blazefire...
They didn't copyright the term "Maize" being used to describe yellow. That's not possible, and a judge would throw that out in a second.
What they did do is copyright the usage of the term Maize to describe X color value when used on athletic gear sold by competing corporations for the University of Michigan. Rather than just create a different shade of yellow and also call it Maize, which would be somewhat confusing and possibly could be contested in court, Adidas decided it would be simpler to create a new shade and and give it a new name, and trademark THAT. So now, Michigan can have their stuff, call it Maize and everything is fine, but Adidas can't list the color as "Maize" in commercial documents.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:39 PM ^
They would do it with the away jerseys if they did. Pretty much no one likes our away uniforms (Didn't Bo say we had the worst road uniforms in the country?).
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:44 PM ^
Jerseys look like something in the CFL
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:44 PM ^
You know, I would love to see that worn at the Big House, if for no other reason then it will get the old people out of their seats and making noise instead of just sitting there. But seriously, that looks atrocious.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:48 PM ^
So-So but i felt like during "THE GAME" that Rutgers was handing us our asses.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:56 PM ^
would be the sound of people gathering torches and pitchforks, organizing a lynch mob for the entire athletic administration.
January 2nd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
I'm gonna have nightmares.
