Hoke was disciplined for player safety at Ball State
Fuel, say hello to my good friend fire.

Maybe he just wanted to reinforce the value of wearing short sleeves in the winter?

the title of this thread man. Actually, mods delete this thread. This man is not an evil villian dead set on injuring players as he taps is fingers together with an evil laugh. This is too much now.

I changed the title, as it was pretty leading. However, as much as it feels like this is piling on, forcing kids to practice in -12 degree weather is unsafe. That's not cold. 20 degrees is cold... -12 is dangerous.

as someone who was born and raised in Northern Michigan and the U.P. I just want to inform you that -12 is chilly, not dangerously cold.

-12F just means there's a bit of a nip in the air.

Temps have to be about -40 for breathing cold air to become an issue. -12F/subzero weather, I spent many a winter day running two to five miles running in those temps. But yeah, let's just ignore the millions of Siberians and Eskimos that have spent thousands of years florishing in those temps.

I work outside for a living no one is going to die breathing the air at -12. If it was I would not have survived last winter and my wife and child would never have to work again in their lives due to the settlement from workmans comp.

but we now live in the "TMZ" environment. I truly believe that Hoke did not see the hit on Morris. I was at the game and I didnt see it until today, most people were fixed on the pass. But the ref saw it (threw the flag) and Kalis diid too. Evidently Nuss wanted Morris to go down so the ref could stop play ... and the trainers would have gone out. Shane was so slow to get up and staggered and that's when the crowd was yelling for something to be done to get him out of the game. Who saw what will never be known.
But the fact remains that Brandon and Hoke have each done their share to warrant being fired immediately. Brandon's gimmicks are not worthy of what this great academic institution is. And Hoke has somehow taken an 11-2 first season into the WORST B1G team in the conference with nothing but 4 & 5 star recruits. That is incompetence beyond the highest level. As everyone EVER connected to Michigan knows, Football is what drives economics at the U of M. A quality football program needs nothing more than a place to play and the stadium will be full.
The "festering disease" in the athletic program needs to be removed immediately, because it kills more and more of what we all love every single day.
Go Blue!

I was there live and while most didn't see the hit live, we did see Morris almost fall over onto Braden on the big screen at which point everyone in my section starting screaming bloody murder to get him out of the game. I and most people in my section were furious live and nothing the coaching staff or AD has said since has abated the anger.

there's the media coverage for this when it happened. If you'd like to hear about it first-hand, well, I suppose you should buy me a drink first.

I know you've taken a lot of heat—some from me—this morning, but you're in a unique position here, since you played for Hoke and obviously have respect and affection for the guy.
I'd really be curious to have your views on why things have gone south so badly over the last 1.5 seasons. I can understand if you don't want to say anything here, but it'd be valuable to hear anyhow. Not sure it can help Hoke at this point...

Let's not pretend Brady's secretly a smiling devil with no regard for players. I think this incident has more to do with basic negligence and ignorance than it does malevolence.

Hoke's going to get some grays this week, if his heart doesn't explode first. I can feel his stress from here. Big Boy Business, you bet your ass.

He had me at, "This is Michigan for God sakes!" He lost me at, "If Shane didn't want to be the quarterback he would have brought himself out or stayed down."
If Dave Brandon values his job he should sever ties with Hoke ASAP. Mattison would probably agree to be the interim HC for the rest of the season out of loyalty to the kids but then if he wants to leave so be it. The best scenario is to have the next coaching staff in place for bowl game practices. NVM we don't stand a chance at a bowl game.

UM or Big 10/14 should ban Hoke from the sidelines (and the stadium, if it is enforceable) for a game. In all likelihood, UM should dismiss him at the end of the season.

Does anyone else find the Notre Dame/Chicken head thing to be a disturbing reminder that-- they opted out of playing us, kicked our ass, and now we look like clowns for so much more?
