Harbaugh-Walters Postgame Handshake

Submitted by BigMeech82 on November 4th, 2023 at 10:58 PM

DId anyone else notice that postgame drive-by handshake exchanged at the end?  No words exchanged. I can't wait to see the "pleasantries" exchanged the rest of the season.

If you knew you were in the right, you keep your head up and shake hands. If you're a dirty coward that is full of shame and guilt, you don't make eye contact and blow by as quick as you can.

Well, now Purdue and their POS coach are on my shit list. Running out of teams to not hate.

I'd rather clown the last 3 teams though. I'll be there for Maryland. Please remain undefeated

They lost because they had to change their signs and that took away from real practice time. This was MSU's excuse too. This is the built-in excuse now...even though stealing signs is legal and everyone does it and everyone knew we were good at it (even if a little too good) so they've always known us having their signs was a threat so it's not actually new information.

And did Purdue huddle like he said they would? I didn't really notice.

Also are sideline signs so integral to the game that the execution doesn’t matter? I can’t stand Deion Sanders but he said it best when he said “you still gotta stop the play”.

Also, Michigan stole signs… not your actual play call. Deciphering between run or pass is not that hard and stealing a God damn sideline signal is not the same as knowing you’re going to throw to the Y receiver on a Trips Left - Cut Motion - Gel Flex on 2, which is an actual play call. If you don’t have 10 or so options from the initial sideline play call, you should feel very bad.

That’s my take as well, there is zero chance Michigan is able to glean as much information from these signals as some people are trying to make it seem like.

No coach in America is running the same exact play multiple times throughout the season outside of base plays that only get used situationally in short yardage or blowouts. If you’re running the same exact play with no alterations multiple times throughout the year, you’re just a bad coach and it won’t matter if opponents have the signs or not.

run/pass and direction of the play is likely the MOST Michigan would be able to gather from knowing your signs. Deciphering those signals and relaying them to the defense in time to adjust our play-call before the snap takes place makes it even harder to believe Michigan had some massive advantage if the allegations are all true.

Seems like the most likely scenario is Michigan knew certain signals meant certain things, and were able to couple that knowledge with regular scouting of opponent scheme, alignment, and tendencies. As many have pointed out, the issue isn’t the fact that Michigan knew the signals. Sign stealing is part of the game and everyone does it. The issue would be the methods used to obtain the information. But it’s definitely crazy to listen to people acting like Michigan had everyone’s entire playbook downloaded or something.

Im pretty sure Fleck is the only one who sees this for what it is: absolutely zero tangible advantage. We are just better than everyone we played. They aren’t even in our class. Fleck said as much before this all came out and I suspect he is the “anonymous” coach who reiterated the sentiment. It doesn’t matter if we have the heads up or not, you lose.

Bro got a head job off of an NFL talent who was there before he was. That defense was annoying but it wasn't schematically anything special. He's not going to get talent to Purdue. Have going back to mid-tier coordinating gigs. Purdue's garbage and shall remain garbage. Who gives a shit about them.

Fuck that little bitch! He coached with fatass Bert last year so what do you expect? We don’t need signs to beat your pathetic ass team. 90-13 without Stallions so far. What else do you all fucking have for us?

Him and all these other B1G coaches are punks who don't want to confront Jim on a phone call, so they talk about him behind his back to Daddy Pettiti and ask him to do something about the bad man.

At this point, I just want someone to come out and say “we lost because they stole our signs”. If coaches really feel this way, come out and say it. If not, stfu with all this noise.

Also if you feel so strongly that the advantage of stealing signs is so insurmountable, then protest the game and refuse to play. If you do play the game, you’re essentially saying I accept the results on a fair playing field.
