Harbaugh confirms: WHITE PANTS on the road

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on October 14th, 2019 at 7:26 PM

Just now on the Inside Michigan Football Radio Show when asked by Jon Jansen.

White on white.

Last time we wore them at PSU was 2015, a 28-16 win.

Ummm... the white pants are considered the classics. The maize pants are the modern unis.

Yeah I guess you can debate the terms "classic" and "throwback", but I think all white just looks classy.

FWIW, I also think the away uniforms in the Carr era were sharp.

What in the hell are you talking about? Michigan has worn maize pants since 1940, and before that the pants were a drab tan color. The white pants first appeared in 1973 and were abandoned after 1975. They are most definitely not "the classic" Michigan pants. JFC.

The current white on white road look is great. I am not a fan of the current white jerseys with maize pants.

White and maize looked better together with the old Adidas & Nike white jerseys, imo.

Then again maybe I'm just used to the white on white ?‍♂️

Either way - just WIN THE DAMN GAME.

Honestly should just wear home uniforms everywhere. I don't think there's a larger disparity in quality of home vs away jerseys than at Michigan.

For some reason the away jerseys have just been crap since the late 90s. Idk what it is. With TV, it shouldn't be that hard to discern teams except at obvious places like Happy Valley where you'd have to wear another color.

Edit: If we have to wear an away jersey, why not maize tops on blue pants? Can't be that bad can it? Certainly less boring than white on white.

Must wear white jerseys.

By rule the visiting team must wear white jerseys. This means white, which does not include light gray, pale yellow, etc. The home team may wear white, but only if they get written agreement with the visiting team before the season starts (Rule 1-4-5-b).

Maybe dumb brain thought by me, but if you’re in a sea of white-out fans, doesn’t it make it more difficult to discern your teammates in the periphery? Just seem like you would want colors that stand out against the background.

Harbaugh's teams have a 1.000 win percentage at State College with white pants and .000 with maize pants.  No question about it.
