Gatorsports has Borges listed as candidate for OC

Al Borges, offensive coordinator, University of Michigan Muschamp and Borges were assistant coaches on the same Auburn staff, so Muschamp knows exactly what kind of coordinator he would be getting. Borges runs a pro-style offense with excellent balance between the pass and the run. His Michigan offense this season is averaging 235.7 yards a game on the ground and 198.8 through the air. Borges was considered a possible candidate for the job a year ago before Muschamp hired Weis.

That's about all there is to the article. Its a pretty weak tie-in and I don't see the incentive for him to leave unless Florida were to offer him more money.

Title edit per suggestion.

With the youth of the team now is not the time to suffer any kind of coaching change.  If Florida does make a legit offer, Brandon damn well better counter offer.

Anyone know the buyout on the contract for Borges?

Is he actually a legit candidate?

Or is this just dumb speculation like when some said that Mattison was a candidate to reunite with Urban Meyer and become DC of Ohio...

No way this happens, Borges is a career OC and he has finally hit the "big time" so why would he make a lateral move to a Florida team where the HC may be in hot water after the next season.

Looking forward to next season, Borges has got to have a semi-permanent chubby. Dilithium as a senior, carrying forward his late-season improvement in technique; Touissant looking like an all-B1G RB; incoming talent and an extra year to develop this offense. Molk is a huge loss, obviously, but no reason to think next year won't be a step up from a great year this year. Mattison, by contrast, will have to do an even better job just to maintain the D he has now with the losses on the DL. I wouldn't be surprised if next year Borges and Mattison swap roles--Borges as potential coordinator of the year and Mattison as the guy who looked shaky early in the year but brings it together in the middle of the B1G season (as new players start to gel).

The article also has the Ok State OC and Miami OC listed, the author really seems to be reaching here. I mean maybe Miami's in a shitty position, and Florida could offer more money than Ok State, but they all seems like lateral moves at best and downgrades otherwise.

Brandon will come up with the money - and there is no other reason for him to make a lateral move - especially when he is close to Hoke.  Borges has a good thing here and he knows it.

If I remember correctly, isn't Borges' wife working with the university also?  Is this a situation similar to Tommy Amaker and his wife?  Moving from Michigan to Florida is a step down for a university administrator.

Plus, even Charlie Weis' "decided schematic advantage" can't turn Florida into a functional offense, does Borges really want to take that on?  Especially when UCLA, ASU, and Fresno State are still looking for headcoaches...

isn't the number of carries DRob had directly related to the end of the season. He only ran the ball a dozen times against Illinois and Iowa. The offense struggled. He ran the ball 23 and 29 times against Nebraska and Ohio  and the offense rolled. He could afford to have him run the ball more late in the season because the season was coming to an end. Everyone implies that Borges finally figured out how to use DRob and I think it was just a matter of the timing of the season. Why wouldn't he run him 20 some times against Ohio? He would have several weeks to rest him up.
