Friday POSBANG - Shootin' Blanks Edition

Submitted by GoWings2008 on October 21st, 2022 at 12:31 AM

Bye week.

Time to spend the weekend working on that honey-do list, or taking the kids somewhere they've been asking.

Time to go to that wedding for that someone considerate who scheduled it during the bye week.

Time to go ahead and get that vasectomy done and spend the weekend sitting on a bag of frozen peas. No more questions, thank you.

Good Lord, I hate bye week. Good luck to you all making the most of it though.

Have a surprise 40th Birthday party to attend.  I plan on bringing my friend Grim with me (he is a Halloween decoration that I have).  He should be a real hit at the party....

Other than that, heading the the LO v Saline football game tonight to check out Carr to see what all the hub bub is about and getting some lawn work in tomorrow during the day.

Then getting geared up for Sparty week, I have some Sparty friends that are chirping about wanting Harbaugh to stay for a very long time.  After we crush them next Saturday, I just want to look at them and say "Yeah, your going to get what you wished for, but I pretty sure your not going to like how it turns out for you."

I had my vasectomy on a Thursday morning, first availability.

I can here after and saw a thread “Happy Vasectomy Day”.

I unknowingly had it scheduled the first day of March Madness and Michigan won both of their games, ‘twas a good weekend.

A good luck bang and happy Friday  to all here even with blanks this week !  Might start packing for a trip back to Ann Arbor for game next week, and handle a few wee chores, and rest.

Happy thought for the day…

Michigan no doubt prepared a passing game plan for Penn State as they were expected to be a tough opponent. We needed none of it as it turned out.
MSU doesn’t have anything like they will see next week on film, and will spend a lot of time figuring out what to do with our run game.
I think there will be some pretty diabolical pass game against Sparty!

This is not only Wife's Weekend--date night at Ciao's in Fenton. It is Daughter's Weekend for me too. So I'll be driving around dirt roads in my truck with my 15-year-old daughter, listening to Taylor Swift's new album which just "dropped" at midnight. God help me. I don't mind some of her music. But hours straight... The lyrics on her song about Kanye, "Karma?" "Karma is my cat who purrs on my lap because it loves me." Oof.  So because I am humblebragging what a great husband and dad I am...bang me!!!!

We've got kid #2 on the way in January, and are very much done-zo after that. Two is plenty.

I will be scheduling my vasectomy probably the day before March Madness kicks off. I usually take that Friday off to watch the games, so I figure if I'm going to be sitting on my ass anyway, might as well make sure I get the snip-snap taken care of then, too.

Re: Vasectomy

wrong idea there. Book it for first Thursday in March. Dr’s orders no movement etc…you’ll be stuck on your couch with nothing but opening weekend of March Madness.

Also, modern laser vasectomies are painless and you can walk out of clinic without missing a beat. Just don’t tell your wife.

1st rule of Mgopoints is don't talk about points...

However, since points aren't working at the moment so this "shootin' blanks" edition is especially salient today for a posbang!

i don't have a "honey-do" list. my wife and i work as a 50-50 team on everything. well, except yard work. she is NOT messing with my power tools. my kids are grown and live elsewhere.

I am winterizing the mower/power tools this weekend. golfing and taking a scenic drive through the national forest saturday. should be back by 6 pm or so to catch up on the days games and watch football until she goes to bed, at which point i'll probably head up to the bar to catch up with friends and watch the UFC fights.

Should be a great and relaxing weekend!

Biking and then beer at the brewery here tomorrow morning with the local alumni club (it's our bye-week tradition) and a stroll around Epcot on Sunday with a margarita from La Cava de Tequila.

I really thought this was gonna be a thread about Michigan man and former walk on Nick Blankenburg scoring the game winning goal for the Blue Jackets last night...

I follow 6 college football teams and two have byes this weekend.  Schools of H&W, children and their spouses.

Michigan - bye, Georgia - bye, USNA v. Houston, CMU v. BGSU, Yale @ Penn and DePauw @ Ohio Wesleyan.

Quite a bit of channel surfing to be accomplished.

I didn't read through every comment but wear a jock strap post procedure for a couple days at least.  HUGE difference in terms of discomfort.  For what it's worth, I played a round a golf the day after I got mine and, except for a little bleeding, I was fine so long as I was wearing the jock.

I'll humble brag that I specifically scheduled my wedding the day of the Delaware State massacre, figuring everyone would rather drink margaritas with us south of Cancun than watch baby seals get clubbed up and down in the Big House that day.

Man, I got mine.

THEN got it reversed 8 years later.  Yes.  I.  Did.

Carving pumpkins with the result of that decision tomorrow.

Then... maybe... watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
