On the First Day of Christmas My MGoBlue Love Gave to me....

Mates,

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we lost our 'Partridge' in the coaching pear tree so we need to fill in the blank on this one.  While some of you might be partial to the golden rings, the geese-a-laying or even the maids-a-milking, our question is different.  It is a two-part question and goes like this:

1. What do you want Santa to bring the football team beyond the obvious answer of a National Championship*?

2.  What do you want Santa to bring you for the holiday(s)?

*If any of you write 'natty', I will personally call both Santas, the one in the North Pole and the one in Ann Arbor to have you put on the 'Naughty' list.

Have a great day and Go Blue!

Seems Christmas takes place before we are going to win a National Championship, I would like Santa to bring the team an unlimited supply of Brinks trucks so we can supply all players with top NIL money!

Personally, I would like Santa to drop off a size Large Michigan National Champion t-shirt to wear on Jan 8th!

1.  Many, many tuddies.

(Curse you Penn State fans for foisting this egregious term upon the world)

2.  Nothing of any particular significance.  Just looking forward to some family time, some good food and hopefully a nat- er, two more wins for the boys in blue.

Naturally, I'm hopeful the team gets through the next two games without any injuries (I tried to come up with a way of sneaking the word "natty" in there, but it simply would have sounded too forced).

2.  What do you want Santa to bring you for the holiday(s)?

Christmas is a tough time for my family, so I'm hoping for some good joy during the holidays. Mrs. Kap and my anniversary is Friday and we'll be in New York so I fully expect to find some there. Also, I want cash.

How about a couple of surprise five star flips to the good guys? Since I didn't cheat the question, perhaps Santa could even let me choose?

1. Coaching stability. Preferably sign Harbaugh to a long extension that closes the door on the NFL, but if not, then a smooth transition to Moore.

2. Probably some Rose Bowl gear, but it's always a tricky decision whether or not to wait until after the season (and after Christmas) to see how the bowl game went to confirm if I want the gear.

I honestly don't care if they win the Natty, I just want them to beat Bama. It would end so many narratives and place us firmly in the upper tier of CFB.

I know many will not like this answer, but I want snow! Winter is only good because of snow and I miss the days of getting feet of snow not inches. If it has to be cold and dead outside at least let it be snowy so we can send the kids outside to build forts and go sledding.

1. A convincing win over Alabama, so I can look at Finebaum's face and smirk, knowing the pain he is feeling.

2. Numerous #1-#3 football recruiting classes.

UofM has had some great players over the Harbaugh years, but I would really like to see Michigan starting ramping up the recruiting. Top 15 classes aren't going to continue the level of success they've had the past couple seasons. It will start to look more similar to the first half of Harbaugh's tenure, rather than the last couple years.

I for one am tired of seeing Michigan miss out on top recruits, continuously. No reason we should have lost instate talent like Dante Moore, and most likely Bryce Underwood.

Hopefully, I have been good enough that Santa grants my wishes!

Michigan will never be top 5 in recruiting because they won't just pay 5 stars to come here. Underwood is a perfect example. Local kid, great relationship with coaches, coaches that prepare you for the NFL, winning team, etc.... doesn't matter. LSU will give him a few million just to come to Baton Rouge. Michigan will never match that so down south he goes. Until the NIL actually gets some regulations limiting pay for play Michigan will be in the 10-20 range with big classes full of 4 stars, but lacking the top players.

The advantage is that no one on the team has been "given" money they haven't earned. No one in that locker room can begrudge the NIL money that Corum and McCarthy are getting now because they've earned it on the field with their performances, but a freshman walking in having been "given" $1 million to come play hasn't earned anything. That causes division in the locker room which is why A&M and Miami suck even though they have a billion 5 stars.

The disadvantage is that you have no chance with the top 5 stars because you won't pay them just to come.

the next mccarthy.  clearly a different game with legit pro QBs out there.  harbaugh doesnt want 4000 yard passers so its more difficult to recruit (not to mention refusal to throw NIL at top prospects to commit) but still the 3 peat should help michigan find their next star.  davis may end up a nice player but he doesnt have the gifts pro teams covet.  whos next?

seems like weve had sick kids the past few holidays so fingers crossed santa keeps the flu away this year!
