Probably saw the writing on the wall. He's been here since 2018(I believe), the same class as Hutch. Especially with the ones we are getting with the portal, probably wants to see more playing time to finish out his college career.

Oh man!!! Now we won’t have any depth at all!!!

Just kidding. But I wanted to beat whoever was going to say that.

But why? He was already getting more PT than he should've. His great moments almost exclusively came in being in the right place because he lacked pass rush, but he was responsible and the coaches loved him. I don't get it.

Well Moore, Okie, McGregor are all pushing from behind and have more upside, plus Morris is coming back and we added Stewart.  EDIT: I’m wrong, Morris hasn’t confirmed anything, I was thinking of Kris Jenkins.

Moore in particular is likely to improve at a faster rate than Upshaw so not sure he would have maintained his snap count, plus Harrell is still there.

He might want to go somewhere he can get on the field more and establish himself as a potential late round pick as a run stopper.

Yes. How about you name someone who’s not been talked about for 6 months as a guy who’s leaving. And yes there are more to come. The staff has meetings with these guys and is honest with them about where they are at. Some guys don’t wanna stick around and be passed up.

Since you’re in the know, let’s hear a name that isn’t already out there to stake your claim. Because literally 80% of Michigan fans that follow any big time reporters knew Anthony was gone. I didn’t say you were wrong, just that you’re pushing a rumor that is widespread claiming to have inside knowledge.

Wait, you think that Michigan having a bunch of players enter a transfer portal that have over 1600 names right now is a sign of some specific change happening at Michigan or the natural process that occurs when one's season is over?  I mean, right now the guys who have transferred are McNamara and All (who didn't care what happens with Harbaugh), a couple deep backups in Juice, Deuce Hansen, and Rooks, and a guy who was playfully referred to as the most replacement-level lineman on the roster.  That's literally happening at every team in America who isn't still playing football.

Yes.  I think an uptick in transfers, particularly with players who would have had a role next year, while there is definitely activity between Harbaugh and the NFL, makes it more likely he is leaving.  Aside from being a bad contrarian trying futility to sound smarter than other people on an anonymous message board, what is your purpose with this?  To show off your uncommon brilliance?  Consider me impressed, and truly humbled.

Or you could just come to terms with the fact that Harbaugh is probably leaving.

So...yes?

I'll take the compliments but I don't consider myself Nostradamus because I can look at a roster and ascertain that 4th-year guys who have been passed by younger players might look elsewhere.  And to really blow your mind, my guess is a couple more names may pop up on this transfer list especially at spots where, say, a linebacker wound up getting goal line carries in recent weeks instead of guys recruited for the spot.

And while scholarship counts don't matter for getting guys on campus financially, the practical issue that UM has a 30+ incoming class (between commits and transfers) will likely lead to more guys realizing their path to the field is vanishing and they should look now since many of them missed that initial rush opportunity because they were on teams playing for a national title and they likely didn't want to be a distraction/appear to be quitting on the team.

But as you said, maybe I'm just brilliant.

Financially it likely doesn't matter but practically speaking if there are a bunch of guys coming in that the staff want (either recruiting or transfer) guys who are down the depth chart may see that as a sign they aren't likely to get a great shot at the field and logically look elsewhere.
