Evening / Late Night Games Open Thread
I was frankly shocked that no such thread was currently up as we're typically so conscious of the slate. No matter, a few notable ones:
Florida State / Oklahoma State - currently 10-0 FSU with the first quarter nearly over.
LSU / Wisconsin - this should be an interesting one. I think it is the only SEC / Big Ten game scheduled this season.
Oregon / South Dakota - Prediction? Pain. No, seriously, the line has Oregon winning by an amount yet to be computed.

Usually I don't care to root for B1G teams, but this is the conferences most high profile non-con game of the year and this will go a long way towards the public perception of the league

Until next week's MSU v Oregon game.

to start the 2nd half may have been prophetic.

inexcusable. That's on the coaching staff.
Les sounded like he had thrown in the towel at the half interview with his first sentence after watching his offense. Then he sort of caught himself and went rah rah. I think he knows what a mess he has on offense.

Whelp Oklahoma St. put up a good effort tonight, but too many mistakes killed it for them.
Hopefully Wisco throttles LSU.

So you dont have Wisconsin coming out of the west?
Also that's a bad attitude man - they are not Alabama 2012. They are stifling a team with all their skill players confused and lost. We should be at the point we are no afraid of playing teams.

How could you not be ready for that?

Everyone knows Les would fake it and then throw a bomb. It's his MO.

need 3 scores either way. Short of 2 more bombs working think it will be moot.

2 bombs are the entire LSU offense this game.

Wiscy really knows how to leg tackle. It's something we need to get better at.
August 30th, 2014 at 11:37 PM ^
I think FSU has to go undefeated just so the chances of multiple SEC teams in the playoff is reduced.
August 30th, 2014 at 11:46 PM ^
Given the whole Winston affair, I really don't want to see them win it all. I'll take two SEC teams over them.
August 30th, 2014 at 11:40 PM ^
McEvoy has not changed his QB skills since high school. Always trying to out run and shake people.

I'd probably have a fairly different top 25 based on the weeks results. Namely I'd put TAMU right into the top 10 - not quite top 5 with that D. Bama and FSU down 5-10 spots. OSU down 10-15
August 31st, 2014 at 12:01 AM ^
FSU went on the road and played a real team unlike most every other team not named A&M Bama Georgia and Wisconsin/LSU. So better to reward someone who crushed nobody coastal carolina 54-14?
Dont think there should be any polls until week 6 but how many of these top 25 played a team with a heartbeat? I wouldn't punish the ones that did and didn't look great in week 1 when every team has major kinks. These SEC teams are already playing conference games while most teams will play 3 baby seals and 1 real team before playing a conf game in week 5. Just apples and oranges at this point. How would Bama and FSU have done vs App State or whoever Oregon is playing tonight etc.

Kind of agree. However, I think what you are seeing are the benefits of oversigning.
August 31st, 2014 at 12:07 AM ^
Eh, I think that excuse holds more water later in the season, when teams are more banged up.
August 31st, 2014 at 12:09 AM ^
Not really. Depth is always important and Wisconsin has lost two of their three starting d-linemen.
August 31st, 2014 at 12:32 AM ^
Well, most teams - even ones that oversign - are going to be worse when they lose two starters in the same game.
But anyway, that doesn't excuse Wisconsin's offense, which has looked awful all quarter. Still, they have a chance.
August 31st, 2014 at 12:40 AM ^
Their offense has no excuse, I agree. You have to admit that they have very little depth on the dline.

Wisconsin trying to choke in the slowest manner possible. LSU's inept offense is making this especially slow and painful
