I would hate Robert Smith more if he didn't go to my high school.  He paid for our new weightroom when I was sophomore, so I am obligated to not hate him as much.

Unfortunately my high school alums also include Pepe Pearson, Thaddeus Gibson and Tony Fisher....although luckily Bob Davie was coaching ND and never used Fisher right.

Last year when Michigan State beat Michigan, the Spartans held Denard Robinson to negative-9 rushing yards and zero passing yards. Granted, Robinson wasn't Michigan's quarterback then, did not attempt a pass and carried the ball only three times. But if the Spartans pull that off again, you have to like their chances to win.

As the Heisman front-runner and the only reason ... Rich Rodriguez is still employed, Robinson will remain as the front-runner as long as he keeps beating Michigan's opponents without the help of anyone else on the team.

I get that Page 2 is a joke, but this isn't the first time things like the above come up. The OL is much improved, and the receivers are playing really well this year. If Tate is starting, we're probably 4-1 at this point.  The ESPN3 guy (Colorado asshat) said that Michigan would be 0-5 without Denard. We know this is ridiculous, but do they really f'ing believe what they're saying?

And in the OT-he's-not-our-coach-thank-God files:

Les Miles, LSU: Yes, 5-0 Les Miles is on the hot seat. And it's completely deserved after yet another clock management debacle last week against Tennessee. Miles tried to explain the end of the Tennessee game this way: "I understand the responsibility of the way we managed the back end of the game is mine. I can tell you that the issue was trying to use and have utility in an extra down. We used way too much time in substitution." Oh, Les. You're hopeless. You even took too long to say "I have no idea what I'm doing."

Good stuff. Thanks for posting it, qed!

...has gonna off the fucking rails with Denard lately.  2-3 articles per day, every day this week.  As a huge M fan and alum, even I'M a little sick of reading about him already.

Kinda makes you wonder why they didn't bring gameday to Ann Arbor.  I think they've got us lined up for next week if we win.

I am surpised that Trevor Matich didn't write this.  He knows how to stop Denard and why he runs fast.  He figured something out that 5 DC's have yet to.

Stopping Denard is easy.  You just TACKLE him, and he can't gain any more yards.

I'm surprised no one has tried that yet.  Michigan's first five opponents have been too focused on the "catch him" approach, which has been a tactical error IMHE.

The best analysis by matich on stopping denard was getting guys downfield, then he did one of his typical stares and awkward pauses.. lol  He is such an idiot..

Who would of thought that if defenses get their guys downfield and tackle they could stop denard?

The best thing i've read is that  msu needs to try to stop denard in the backfield in order to stop him..... The only thing i could think of was, no shit? Isn't that what every team tries to do to any qb or rb?

Denard IS the God. He just doesn't think we're quite ready yet for the knowledge. So he's speaking to us via things we can readily understand like QB draws and zone reads. Later we'll find out they were actually metaphors for ending world hunger and war. Or something like that.

Hilarious.  I was expecting this to be Tom Hanks and something about davinci but this was hilarious.  The fact that it was from ESPN makes it even better.

amusing, and sometimes downright disrespectful that these talking heads have all the facts and fail to mention Nebraska had a kid in 1997 named Scott Frost who ran the triple option and if I recall was never injured. Did they say  back then every other week that someone is gonna hurt him? While I do not remember his playing weight I bet it was no more than 210 if that much and not at all very big, nor the freakish athlete that of Denard. Is it a stretch to say that the Haters are gonna hate no matter what? Wasn't Troy Smith about 5"11 195 ? While he did not run as much Denard he did and took his share of hits. I do not remember him missing any time. So I think the theory that eventually he will get hurt should take a backseat. The play he initially got hurt on will teach him to pick his spots, and I think people should just give it a rest. I never wish for an opponent to get injured and anyone who does is a poor sport along without having any class.

Some funny stuff in there

"QB Bath Slippers: This is an entire offensive package in which Robinson can run any of the plays above. However, in this package he is wearing fuzzy bath slippers to raise the level of difficulty so football is a bit more fun and challenging for him."
