Bo Harbaugh

All and McNamara going out bitter and juvenile.

Pretty surprising for 2 former captains to be acting this way.

Cade was butt hurt and acted as if he was above needing to compete for the starting job with JJ from day 1 in camp - acted entitled and bratty in the pressers - and was then completely outplayed.  Not expecting a 5* you shared some snaps with the year before when he was a freshman (with a better ceiling in both arm talent and an upgrade as a running threat) to be a legit threat to take your job the next year is delusional. Sucks for a B1G Championship QB, but JJ showed out and Cade didn't.

All is really surprising to go out this way given he was seemingly one of Harbaugh's favorite players last year.  Whatever happened medically was obviously messy, and we don't know how it was handled administratively.

But for both these players to go out like this is a really bad look for them and doesn't help with relationships if they wish to have NFL careers.  Never burn bridges

There has been a Michigan money cannon in place for quite some time and it is called the Michigan Alumni Association and its hundreds of thousands of members who will often go that extra mile for fellow Wolverines.  Why two players who may or may not make it to or in the NFL would throw the University under the bus is nonsensical, particularly in the case of Cade.  Most of us knew Cade would likely leave if JJ became the starter and no one would have blamed him.

Less is way more particularly when "more" is sour grapes.

Cade’s displeasure with Michigan is not solely related to his competition with JJ. Cade gave an interview with Jordan Palmer where he said he had a torn patella from the msu game last year that Michigan never diagnosed.  It was only discovered when he tore his MCL this year.  He said while dealing with the MCL issue, they looked at the MRI from his knee last year and the torn patella was clear as day.  He does not believe he should have been cleared to play given the extent of his knee injury last year that should have been discovered, and that Michigan advised him not to get surgery on his knee this year that turned out to be the MCL tear, and a pretty bad one.  Of course this is his side of the story, but it goes to why, at least partly, he’s upset at Michigan.

I’ll try to find the link to the interview and edit this post.

Bullshit. It doesn't make sense. If the whole issue was making the switch to JJ, wouldn't it be easier by telling your captain, hey you have an injury, let's get it taken care of, and the go with JJ? Why force the "starter" to play with said injury and create a controversy when you make the change? Cade sit get healthy and we'll play JJ. Doesn't pass the smell test

We have been over this patella claim and it is FAR from the simple “misdiagnosis” Cade claims now, a year after the fact.  After listening to my Doc wife and the Docs who posted here about how that injury is diagnosed and treated, this smacks of Cade playing victim a year later far more than Cade being mistreated.

granted the Cali surgeon behaving unprofessionally helped Cade feed his narrative.

This, 100%. Unfortunately, football is synonymous with injury. The way to avoid injuries playing football is ... not play. Cade could have told his coaches he didn't want to play at any time. Of course he wanted to play; he's a competitor. Competitors play through injuries, even though there's a risk that they'll exacerbate the injury.

Disappointed to see Cade and Erick go out like this. So much for their Michigan legacies.

The thing about torn tendons is was it partially torn or full torn? *Most surgeons won't complete a surgery for partially torn tendons.

In Cade's case we won't ever know because the University of Michigan won't comment.  But because he went to a surgeon who was going to work on his MCL the surgeon could've said that he'd clean up the patella since he was going to be working on the MCL.

The patella is a bone. Does he mean patellar tendon or patellar cartilage?

As a grad student and recreational runner in the 80s, I didn't run my first year in grad school due to misguided excess dedication to my studies. The excellent staff at Medsport diagnosed damage to the cartilage on my patella, helped me rehab it, and gave me the excellent lifelong advice to keep running to maintain strength in the knee to prevent a recurrence.

I find sour grapes over losing playing time to be a far more plausible possibility than that the medical staff does not know what they are doing .

As you stated that’s his side of the story. Would love to hear what Michigan says about it all as I think the story would change a lot.
Im not saying Cade is completely off here. But UM is a highly respected medical school with very highly respected doctors. I find it highly unlikely they used an old MRI and found something that clearly a second time looking at it

"...and was then completely outplayed"

this is the most important point. JJ sorta crushed him and that's the truth.

All was great! And yet we didn't miss his production on the field. His fam shitting on Loveland is such a weak look.

This process moved me from Iowa being my 2nd fav team next year to hoping they get crushed

Well stated. Ridiculous for both of them to act like this. I usually think of a guy transfers then they aren’t entirely happy with where they are at. But it is very seldom you ever hear a player trash a school in a childish behavior like this and now parents even getting involved.
Be mature. Don’t burn bridges and just move on

In the other thread yesterday, I think the consensus was disappointment but best wishes to these players.  People mentioned not going to root for them but not going against them either.

I fell into that camp.  Thanks for your time here.  Good luck.  Bye.

Not anymore.  Fuck these guys for how this is playing out on the interwebs.  Especially All Sr.

Fuck those guys for bringing Loveland -- who has done nothing -- into this.

Fuck Donovan All

Fuck All Sr.

Erick, I hope you drop the ball in '23 like you did in '20 and your draft stock plummets.

Fuck your family.

All Sr is clowning himself, so please don't take this as a defense, but I assume he meant (a) he didn't know the picture was Harb's son, and (b) he also thinks he knows that Harb doesn't have any disabled kids.

He's wrong about (b), but that interpretation at least makes his sentence make sense.

"Loveland can't block to save his life."

I mean, he's a freshman who wasn't supposed to be playing much this year and has come in and done... pretty well actually.

Erick All as a freshman was a willing blocker but I wouldn't say he was great.

Also, Loveland as a freshman is pretty far ahead of where All was when it comes to catching the ball. He's ahead of where All was as a sophomore as well when he had a pretty big drop problem.

They're not the same type of TE. It's not All > Loveland at every aspect of the position. That's a weird way to look at things.

That's a good point.  I'd pretty much written All off after that year as he seemed to drop more than he caught.  So in that respect, Loveland is WAY ahead of All.

Look, Eric found a new spot with a different team.  Really time to let it go and move on.  This is beyond ridiculous that they keep taking shots.

Considering the amount of love All got as a player, especially early on despite him dropping balls left and right, it is beyond inappropriate the father dumps publicly on a player, not to mention a true freshman, who, its expected they aren't even playing yet because not big nor seasoned enough.  Now we know why OSU didn't recruit All.  F them.  Seriously.
