I'll tell you what I'm blathering about... I've got information man! New shit has come to light! And shit... man, she kidnapped herself. Well sure, man. Look at it... a young trophy wife, in the parlance of our times, you know, and she, uh, uh, owes money all over town, including to known pornographers, and that's cool... that's, that's cool, I'm, I'm saying, she needs money, man. And of course they're going to say that they didn't get it, because... she wants more, man! She's got to feed the monkey, I mean uh... hasn't that ever occurred to you, man? Sir?

Can never get enough Dude dialogue.

Our DBs are going to be so young. We really need last year and this year's classes to step up bigly.

I told myself after the OSU game that I would take a step back and just watch the games live or in person. Too much frustration. Too much bitterness. Yet, here I am giddy about Don Brown's dude of the day.

how vital McCray will be to our teams sucess this year. If he gets quicker moving laterally, and a little better in pass coverage, he will be an absolute monster for us. Oh, and that Gary guy might be pretty good this year.

I'm comfortable with the starting d-line as well as the development of the backups. I even like Wroblewski, Bush, and McCray filling in the MIKE and WILL. Metellus at ROVER and Kinnel at FS actually appears like a dynamic duo. My biggest question marks are Khaleke, David, and LaVert since they play perhaps 3 of the 4 most pivotal positions on the defense, all of which require experience to be prolific. Seeing David as a "Dude" is encouraging.

The quad pads on David Long, in the embedded photo from the OP. I told you there were going to be updates over on one of the other sites. I am The BerkleyandMainman.. I'm guessing that is not all. ;) Sooooo, Dope!!!

I would be surprised if our defense is not still top 10 nationally. Yes, we lose a lot of experience but we do not lose a lot of talent. The guys stepping up are just as talented if not more talented than the guys they will be replacing. They will make some mistakes but they will make up for a lot of it with athleticism. Where we will get into trouble is if we get multiple injuries in the same position group. We can't afford to lose 2 DBs or LBs or DL because we simply do not have the depth to replace our guys yet. Mike McCray is the key for us this year, he should have Brown's defense mastered by now. That is worth a lot. David Long is really encouraging to see. I think he will step up. Rashan Gary will be first team all big ten. Book it. He is extremely talented and has been working his tail off.

It's more of a feast-or-famine thing.  Young freaks of nature are a hell of a double-edged sword because they'll get you 2nd and 13 by blowing up a play in most unconventional fashion and then give up a first down on the very next snap by running themselves way out of position.  We're going to have ARGH ARGH moments when, say, a linebacker bites hard on a play action, is at the LoS in a flash. . . and 15 yards upfield of an easily completed slant.

And our D-line lost a ton of talent.  2nd year Gary is likely (yeesh, it's ridiculous to say this) an upgrade over Wormley at anchor, and Hurst replaces. . . Hurst.  But Mone is a downgrade from Glasgow, and Winovich << Taco.  Mind, you, Mone (if healthy) is a serviceable if inconsistent NT and Winovich is an above-average pass rusher, but the guys they replaced were monsters.  The youth spelling them are going to eat some trap blocks and other shenanigans until they learn to be a little more disciplined and a little more boring.

The upside is that young athletes can get better, whereas with slow veterans you're stuck with what you have.

Rashan Gary, is he's going to be amazing not only for us, but after he leaves. Gonna be nice to give some defensive hogs the Jabrill treatment and show them they can be Rashan Gary part II. (Obviously not really, but won't stop the coaches)

When Ohio State sends their people to the Big House, they're not sending their best. They're sending people with lots of problems and they're bringing those problems with them. They're sending cooler poopers. They're sending bald guys with painted faces. They're sending drunk frat bros. And some, I assume, are good people.
