Did you like the jerseys?

Submitted by Livonia Wolverine on

Simple question: Did you like the jerseys last night? Personally I loved them. They were modern and sharp. I bought a #5 jersey at the tent yesterday morning. (Although I wore my Mike Hart 2005 Alamo Bowl jersey into the game)

They may have looked good in person, but on TV, the shiny stripes and the regular blue sort of collided as the players moved around to give the jerseys a dingy grayish-blue effect.

They did not look as good on TV at night under artificial lighting as they did in the pictures that I've seen of them.

Would be interesting to see what the look would be with the blue pants and the regular blue jersey.

the MAIZE shoes were outstanding!  I kept thinking I saw flags on the turf - but in person they were awesome!  As said above I think I would have liked the normal jersey with the blue pants better.  Also the "9's" on the jerseys looked very much like an "8" ....

but, that was one of the better alternates we've had, in my opinion.  I would have prefered it without the stripes on the numbers or the slick stripes on the shoulders.

Other than that, though, all blues with maize shoes and Michigan's normal helmet didn't look all that bad.

Ditto.  I don't mind rolling out the Blue on Blue look every now and then, I thought it looked pretty slick.

I did not like the stripes on the numbers.  Didn't particularly care for the stripes on the soulders either, but I can live with them.  A cooler look on the shoulders might have been a faint also Blue block M.

I actually liked the Outback Bowl alternates.  The just needed some blue piping around the numbers and letters so you could tell who the hell is on the field right now.

I really liked the matte finish Michigan helmets that Michigan wore in the Outback bowl.

Changing the gloss level is probably the only helmet related alternate change that I would actually find pleasant, though.

Agreed, the Outback jerseys with better contrast on the numbers (or with blue numbers with a maize outline instead of the other way around) is a great look that is good enough to be our standard away uni.

Loved the maize block M contrasted against the blue on the shoulders.

Where can you buy the blue pants? I have maize pants that I got from a connection in the locker room, but I do not have that connection anymore. I liked the look.

They usually have them before the fan day/media day event in August.

They didn't have one this year because they have a low amount of stock to sell to a usually massive amount of people that show up (I emailed them).

Not an auction. You better get there extremely early. I was the third person in line at the 2012 sale and actually got a pair of the white pants Michigan wore at MSU in 2011.

has gotten Muttley onto the 3rd page of users by MGoPoints in 90th place!

Wooo! (I only need 50% more of the points I've accumulated over 5 years to reach the 2nd page)

Oh, and as to the Uniformz. I wanted to hate them, but I actually liked them. Now GET OFF MY LAWN!

As far as alternates go, they were well above average. I think our home jerseys are so good I don't like them being messed with. I'd be all for an all-white away uniform though

I had some difficulty telling the numbers because of the striping on the numbers, but overall I thought they were our best alternates of the past few years.

Yes, although Adidas has a ways to go before they catch up with Nike. Hopefully our next AD 1) signs with Nike when the Adidas contract ends next year, and 2) has the balls to stand up to the whiners among the fanbase who go apeshit whenever we try to do something fun and different with the jerseys for the players and recruits.

I could've done without the shiny reflecting stripes on the shoulders and I'd like to see us try the blue-pants look with the away jerseys... but the all-blue look was cool.
