Dear Sherrone Moore...please run play action!

Submitted by MaizeBlueA2 on November 23rd, 2023 at 11:36 AM

Dear Sherrone Moore,

I typically wouldn't do this, but this year has proven...people in Schembechler Hall read MGoBlog (and their lawyers do, too)!  Who knows if you do, but maybe someone will print this and put it on your desk.

First, Happy Thanksgiving. You, and this team, have made us proud to be Michigan fans - we love you.  The way you've handled adversity has been admirable.  That said, for everyone's sake...please call some damn playaction!

I just read the UFR (and you should, too) and it was criminal.  A bland gameplan is expected, but damn, let's at least stack the playcalling and leverage past play calls, defensive tendencies, etc. - 13(!) consecutive runs and no play action off of it?  You're better than that.

Look, I know you have a lot on your plate.  Too much.  I hope my plate is as full as yours later today, around 4:00pm.  OL coach, OC, and now the gameday HC?  Plus this sarcastic love letter.  But just as my adorable pit/boxer mix will tell me this evening, as my stomach reaches capacity and my eyes roll to the back of my head..."don't forget about your help!"  Mike Hart and Jesse Minter can help with the HC stuff, and Kirk Campbell and Grant Newsome can help with the OC stuff.

And maybe even take a small page from Brady Hoke, at this point in the year, seniors like David Molk and Mike Martin were assistant coaches on the field. Entrust Trevor Keegan and Zak Zinter to help with the OL.

The Team. The Team. The Team.

...we have all the confidence in the world in you.  You're a Michigan Man, through and through.  In the words of a great coach and a better man, we, "...fuckin love you, man."

But dammit Sherrone, mix in some damn play action!

Good luck on Saturday, Beat Ohio, GO BLUE!

Thank goodness. I've been waiting for someone here to tell Moore and Hart how to play football. I know with everything on his plate there is no way Harbaugh had time to meet and game plan this week.

I have to LOL at your comment and you got an upvote from me. It's not like Moore doesn't know how to coach. The thread makes it sound so simple.

I know that there has been 110% focus on the game plan at Schembechler Hall all week, including today for that matter. Yea, I wish that Jim will be on the sideline and that's a moot point. Jim is able to coach this team until it's time to walk into the stadium on Saturday. Safe to say that he's been inside JJ's head all week.

Our players also have to execute these plays on both sides of the ball. My gut says that Michigan will let it all hang out on Saturday. They will take what the defense gives them. It will all boil down to the 4th quarter in this game. It took until the 4th quarter of each of the past two years to see who was the superior team. In 2021, OSU was always one big play way from tying the game until Hassan got his 4th and 5th TD runs. Last year, it was Donovan's two house calls on the running plays that iced it.

Yea, I would love to see Michigan control this game from start to finish. I'll keep my fingers crossed on that. It would be a beautiful thing.

GO BLUE!!

Please throw the ball more at least 20 times.  Don’t see how we win without active passing game.  The last two game plans probably won’t get it done against the Buckeyes.

But who knows…maybe we will run for 500 yard and throw the ball 3 times.

When to call for play action depends on many things.  I suspect they left much of it in the playbook rather than show it on the field as unnecessary so far.  Coach Moore will call it when appropriate and they will be real, and they will be SPECTACULAR.

If the last two years haven't told you how UM shows all kinds of new things against OSU I dunno what to tell you. Harbaugh would give all contingency plans for Moore. Trust the coaches. If they get beat, it will not be because they left something off their list. They will unload everything.

Today I am thankful that Michigan beat Maryland to stay undefeated, as a fan of the team I DO NOT CARE if we win by one point or 50.  Just win THE GAME coach!  We got your back and will do our part in the stands.  GO BLUE!

Just like the last 2 years OSU is going to get the full playbook! Book it! Also remember last years game before OSU, a 19-17 win on a last second FG, and then the next week M looked a WHOLE lot different!

My guess is they open the entire playbook and throw everything at OSU.  This one is so important to these players. They want to prove all the haters and doubters wrong.

GO BLUE!!!

Every year fans complain that we won't have an innovative offensive gameplan for OSU.

Then every year we have an innovative offensive gameplan for OSU.

Rinse and repeat...

Let Moore be himself. He has his own personality. The only thing that matters is if they win. Moore wins he is a legend. This will be the game known as an OC beating Ohio state for all the marbles.

Dude,  we’re setting up the play action for this week.  You’re ruining it!  Harbaugh and the Michigan coaches don’t read this blog, they’re busy playing 3D chess,  but the OSU coaches do….

My confidence level for Michigan being led by Moore against OSU is not very high.  I hope Moore proves everyone wrong, and hope Michigan dominates, but in his three games as a head coach he really hasn't shown much to desire in confidence as someone who can lead Michigan the way Harbaugh has the past three years.  Beating PSU on the road is impressive, but the play calling held Michigan back a lot, and the offense looked slow.

And please make sure we get more cheez dipping sauce with the pretzels, and would it kill you to have the vendors put a little less ice in the soft drinks?
