Dave Brandon sends snarky email back to alum
Ed-Ace: Did some digging on this and while I haven't been able to get my hands on the original email, I can confirm that if real it is from December of 2013 or earlier, not last weekend. Doesn't change the content of the email, of course, but it does change the context.
Just some background here, my friend comes from a family of Michigan alums. Her aunt who is an alum had enough of this garbage so she decided to speak up.
She sent a very respectful email to Dave Brandon that was well-written on their families' opinion of the job he is doing and she said that they no longer were season ticket holders.
This is by no means a fake. This is his actual email which I have confirmed on here before, as has another poster when he posted a story about DB snapping back at him.
She thought I should pass this along and I found this very interesting given the interview coming out today.
I guess we found out those more important things that Dave had to do...

I've gotten so many independent reports of these kind of responses from this email address that I believe that this actually transpired, so it's worth leaving up. WD links to one of them; I've gotten two or three more over the past couple years.
And at one point this was Brandon's address. Since his official one is listed on the UMich directory as a group with four people on it...

...all of whom seem to be real people who aren't the AD, it is certain he's using something else as his email.

DaveBrandonAD is Dave's office email, managed by those in his office. Hence, the group.

Here's a reply I got during the first coaching search. That said, I'm too embarrassed to post what I wrote to him. I have a feeling that's what could be going on here. WD sends 100 ANGAR emails to Brandon, finally gets a reply and makes up the story about his aunt. So while I'm not sure I believe the story, I think the reply is real. Everyone who's saying it's photoshopped, send an email to this address on almost any topic and you'll probably get a response in a few minutes.
I'm afraid email is what Brandon does all day when he's not at an event, in a meeting or on the phone. Email is to DB as mgoboard is to WD. And yeah, he's often passive aggressive and condescending, even publicly as we saw today.

This is in line with Brandon's toxic personality and his contemptuous view of fans and students, so I believe that he wrote this. But without the original email, it loses its currency.

If it was any other OP than the kid who starts five threads a day about Dave Brandon, who also spends his time Photoshopping all sorts of Michigan-related stuff, maybe it would be believable.
Instead, we have a mysterious "friend" who claims this is real, no actual email, and something that can be demonstrably Photoshopped in about thirty seconds.
At the end of the day, I'd absolutely love for this to be real. But looking at the facts here, at the end of the day, DB may be a buffoon, but he's still a public figure. This is something that certainly seems believable given his personality, but it's way too easy to fake, and has way too much utility for the general anti-DB backlash to suddenly have it appear right now. Sorry, the burden of proof seems to be in DB's favor on this one.

When you use the UMICH email it gives you all the emails of people with the name you're looking for. The following exist when you type in Dave Brandon/David Brandon:
