Good for Don Brown. When they play a good offense in the Pac 10 then Arizona will get sliced apart. Michigan has enough problems right now to worry about posts about Arizona and Jedd Fisch. Don Brown should have been fired two years ago at Michigan.

During his time here, name Don's biggest recruiting wins. He is responsible for scheme and responsible for putting together his staff, which should recruit to his needs. If his CB coach can't recruit, that's a direct reflection of DB. If his DL coach can't recruit, that's on DB. He answers for the results. He gets all the credit for his high defensive rankings, so he also takes the blame when they suck.

Show me something other than you saying it is so, and I might buy it. Generally the head coach, and recruiting coordinator are "in control" of whom they recruit, though I'm sure the DC has a large influence on that side. You have a long history of saying things that aren't necessarily true, so forgive me for doubting your wisdom, Salvatore.

It is Don Brown’s defense. Scheme was 100% up to him. As his defense, it is also his job to completely oversee the recruiting of his unit. Any failures in recruiting ultimately fall back on him.

He, as a leader, cannot allow players who don’t fit his schemes to be recruited and can’t allow entire positions to be ignored or missed on. At some point, leaders have to be held accountable for the failures of those who work under them.

I would assume that the defensive line and secondary coaches had at least some responsibility as it relates to recruiting particular positions, but I guess if you say so.

Does he get credit for 20 defensive players drafted in the past 4 NFL drafts as well?  Because if so I'd make an argument that he was also responsible for the team being one of the better defensive units since he arrived and that any other defensive coordinator would have different but equally-infuriating blindspots that fans will complain about when they're angry.

I think it's more accurate to say that offenses caught up with Don Brown's defense. Against Ohio State in 2016 and to a lesser extent 2017, his defense kept Ohio State in check; with a little more offense in both years (or if Speight had thrown away one of his interceptions or Brown had put some stickum on the hands of Josh Metellus) we win both of those games. Hell, if JT Barrett stays in that game in 2017 I think we win.

In 2018, though, Meyer had Don Brown figured out and he hasn't been able to adjust or get enough of a pass rush to offset it. Which at this point would be a hell of a pass rush, I admit.

Definitely Don Brown to Arizona. Still waiting on our guy! Come on, make a decision Harbaugh.

By the way, ESPN showing a lot of names being interviewed for NFL openings... Harbaugh not one of them yet.

If Harbaugh was to interview for an NFL opening it would be on the low. Agents are the primary source for leaks, so other teams can know that their client is desired by other organizations. JH doesn’t have an agent so if he were to meet with a team, he would keep it quiet until it was announced that he was hired.

Additionally, I'm pretty sure NFL teams have to request the ability to conduct interviews from the teams that their candidates currently work for. I don't think that rule extends to the NCAA level, thus if Harbaugh had been interviewed by a team, Michigan would not have had to give an NFL team the 'OK' on conducting said interview.

Good for him man. Don Brown seemed like a good dude. Disappointed that it didn't work out for him at Michigan, but definitely wishing him the best.

I’ll probably get downvoted for this, but I feel the same way about Michigan fans calling Ohio State Ohio. I guess I get that they’re trying to be annoying or something, but it really just makes you sound stupid. People leaving State off of teams names irritates the hell out of me. I have Big 12 fans that still call Iowa State Iowa.

It'll be interesting to see how Don Brown's defenses do in the Pac 12 where there are more pass friendly, high octane offenses. If he struggled to recruit at Michigan, i'm not super excited about his ability to recruit at UofA but i'm hoping for the best.

Interesting that Arizona is starting to become the school where Michigan leftovers go. Jim Harbaugh's next college stop? /s

Don Brown was a person we only heard good stories about. In addition, he fielded top ten defenses for most of his time at Michigan. I realize Michigan is now the unacceptable crowd, but I'm guessing he goes to Arizona and puts together a damn good defense. Was it time to party ways, probably, but I'm still rooting for the guy, and I would have been fine with him back if they upped the recruiting.

Got to give Fisch credit, that is a creative tweet if it in fact is saying what the Board is implying.

Brown could do well in the PAC 12. That league doesn't have the horses that OSU does (or at least in the quantity on 1 team) to exploit him in a similar manner. I do think recruiting is going to be a whole lot tougher for him since all his contacts are in the Northeast.
