Crootin: Filiaga Crystal Ball'd to Michigan

Submitted by FatGuyTouchdown on

Earlier today, 24/7 National Recruiting Insider Ryan Bartow CB'd Texas OT Chuck Filiaga to Michigan after his visit this past weekend went well. Filiaga is widely regarded as one of the best Tackles in the country and his composite lists him as the 112th best player.

Normally I wouldn't make a thread about any Crystal Ball, but Ryan Bartow is normally pretty good and accurate.

excellent to hear.  ruiz is a key prospect and hes obviously quite high on the staffs board.  m has been the presumed favorite for some time and while theres still time and its the crootin game where anything can happen, its nice to hear positive vibes from a guy with webbs record

OL recruiting is going to be fascinating. 4 commits in Hall, Herbert, Honigford, and Stueber... though I don't think it'll be much surprise if Herbert ends up elsewhere. A bunch of guys UM probably leads Slaton, Wilson, Ruiz, maybe Filiaga and Bainivalu. Add in Leatherwood and maybe Wills. Not to mention I'm probably missing some. It's gonna be a wild ride.

Of the definite positions

1 Center- Ruiz

1 Guard- Slaton

2 Tackles- Wilson, Filiaga.

Herbert could move down to guard, same with Steuber.

Not really sure with Hall. There are a lot of High School tackles that could become good college guards. Thats critical, because it's a lot easier to move a tackle in, than a guard out. And its even harder to make a center.

I think he's referring to reports that he's looking to be a tackle in college and if he sees his path blocked he might look elsewhere. Can't remember where I read that at this point but that's roughly what I remember being indicated.
