Cowherd: Zoltan Most Underrated Player in NFL
Listening to Colin Cowherd he is talking about under/over rated players and out of all the players in the NFL he said Zoltan Mesko. Although he goofed his name a lot and said he got a lot practice in college.
[mod edit: also noted he was single-handedly beating teams with his leg, hasn't seen a player kick like that as far as he can remember]

Zoltan is beyond wordly praise. He is not 'rated' simply because it goes without saying...

Because, you know, he's the Space Emperor.

Any bad punts are a result of him holding back as to not launch one into orbit.

From having a very viable and competetive all Michigan NFL team
QB - Brady, Henne, Collins
RB - Hart
WR - Braylon, Manningham, Avant, Breaston
OL - Hutchinson, Baas, Long, Jansen, Backus, Goodwin
TE - (Carson Butler is on the practice squad in NE I believe)
DL - Graham, James Hall (beast mode lately BTW), Watson, Branch
LB - Mr. Bow Tie, Harris, Foote, Woodley, Burgess, Crable
CB/S - Woodson, Leon Hall, Marlin Jackson (IR I know), Trent, Stevie Brown
K - Feely
P - Space Emperor

Don't think people will bash Cowherd in this thread today.
Zoltan, though, is definitly underrated because people would feel bad rating a space emperor against mere humans.

I don't know why people bash him so much. He uses pretty good reasoning behind his opinions. The latest thing that hasn't panned out well for him thus far is his prediction that the Phillies would merely walk to the world series.
Side note, I can't believe the Phils put Roy Oswalt in last night for one inning of work. Even if it did hold up for a couple innings, you took away your game 6 starter.....

You don't know why people bash Cowherd? The guy blatantly stole material from the M Zone, got called out on it, denied he knew anything, and then REFUSED to apologize because the M Zone "whined" when they were actually very cordial about it.
That incident alone is enough to hate him. His cliched radio hotshot persona notwithstanding. If something ever happened to the actor who played Bulldog when "Frasier" was in its run, they could have slid Cowherd, told him to be himself, and not missed a beat in terms of exaggerated stereotypes of how moronic and LCD sports talk radio is.

I am unaware of the M Zone fiasco. Could you enlighten me?

Bulldog from Frasier? I love it! (Not just the Frasier reference, but also the comparison.)

Ok. I will do my best to try and respect the opinions of others here. First, Cowherd loves to dispense wisdom and anecdotes as if he is some sage oracle of truth. CONSTANTLY. He has recently referred to himself, in total seriousness, as a "life raft of sanity amidst a sea of misery." I heard the entire exchange, and there was nary a note of sarcasm; I also made mention of this quote in another post by him. Second, and perhaps even more annoying, is that he constantly prefaces comments with "AS I PREDICTED, RIGHT HERE ON THIS SHOW 3 MONTHS AGO..." or some such drivel...ALL THE TIME. If he were right about 1/10 of the stuff he claims that he saw coming light years away, he would make millions in other industries. The guy is a hack, and I am not even covering the M Zone thing.

More than likely (assuming he's on the schedule most pitchers are ) it was his throw day, but instead of getting that work in on the side they let him do it in the game. I imagine he'll still be starting game 6 if there is one.
October 21st, 2010 at 1:12 PM ^
When you're in danger of getting eliminated in 5, you can't worry too much about Game 6.
October 21st, 2010 at 11:52 PM ^
it was his day to throw between starts anyway. he will pitch game 6 if necessary. it didn't work, but i think it was a smart move. who better? their #5 reliever?

Still waiting for the Patriots to play in Dallas against the Cowboys, so Zoltan can nuke that scoreboard.
October 21st, 2010 at 1:46 PM ^
Just wait for the superbowl, I'm sure he will hit it a few times.
October 21st, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
He's only like 11 in space years. Imagine when he hits space puberty.
October 21st, 2010 at 12:46 PM ^
I've been anxiosly awaiting that day. any estimates on how much longer we have to wait?
October 21st, 2010 at 12:34 PM ^
The League has to be sick of replacing these

MMm, always love the good Mesko press.
Didn't Hagerup say, earlier this year, that he was excited to come to a school where people geek out on punters? Which, you know, is thanks to the Space Emperor.
October 21st, 2010 at 5:03 PM ^
due to the fact that he has such a cool name?
October 21st, 2010 at 9:00 PM ^
why don't we leave that one as an exercise.
October 21st, 2010 at 6:12 PM ^
Great...so now it appears we may have a tradition going of having elite punters (Mesko and now Hagerup)..... if the kicking team as a whole is isn't a zero sum game, then how about we finally get fucking placekicker?

A few of my friends are big Pats fans who don't follow Michigan or college sports in general. They have been texting me telling me how great he is, I can gladly say they now do the Z hands at the game.
