Corum ankle improving; says McCarthy not as fast as him when healthy
“JJ’s fast, man,” Corum said. But, if the running back is fully healthy, McCarthy “ain’t as fast as me.”
Also mentions that winning has resulted in more NIL deals.

maybe not AS FAST, but he is pretty fast AND a hustler for sure
December 17th, 2021 at 10:34 AM ^
And apparently JJ has repulser rays.
December 17th, 2021 at 8:41 AM ^
Did anyone actually think he was?
December 17th, 2021 at 9:35 AM ^
There was video evidence! lol
December 17th, 2021 at 12:18 PM ^
Corum wasnt running full speed he was cutting through defenders and waiting for his blockers.
December 17th, 2021 at 12:57 PM ^
Why does nobody on this blog seem to notice Sainristal's block? Knocked the defender on his ass...
December 17th, 2021 at 1:18 PM ^
I noticed. And mentioned it to friends. He really is an unsung player on this team. He blocks like an animal and has gone from suspect catcher of the ball to routine circus catch hero. Assuming he comes back he seems like the type to be named captain next season, play a few downs in the NFL as a special teams ace/backup receiver, and get into coaching.
December 17th, 2021 at 5:35 PM ^
People noticed and it’s been talked about.
Sainrstil is gaining a reputation as a superb downfield blocker.
December 17th, 2021 at 8:43 AM ^
First we have Cade denying Edwards' throwing ability, now we have Corum and McCarthy feuding. This team is in shambles! divided! Spelling certain doom for the playoffs!
December 17th, 2021 at 8:48 AM ^
PLAYOFFS!?
Oh wait, nvm...

So I think Michael actually says this to Dwight but the sentiment still exist in this case.

Spot on +1.

Can any of them play point guard?

"Corum used Thursday’s media appearance as a de facto advertisement by wearing a T-shirt bearing his logo and slogan — 'The Duce is Loose.'"
I don't even know where to begin w/ this one. Duce is the Latin word for leader, but I have to imagine it's supposed to read deuce for his jersey #. Then once you get past that, you can't stop thinking about dropping a loose deuce. I hope his other phrases are more aligned to things like "lightning in a bottle", etc.
December 17th, 2021 at 9:02 AM ^
I had a problem with, 'The drip brothers' that Jordan Poole used to talk about. Back in the day, having 'The drip' meant you had gonorrhea, lol.

I just threw up in my mouth reading these two posts. That said, I clicked so I could make the same innuendo....

As long as isn’t el Duce, we’re good here.

Il Duce?
December 17th, 2021 at 11:11 PM ^
Yup.
I had German in HS. And I can’t spell that either
December 18th, 2021 at 3:10 AM ^
Next time try the Italian spellchecker
December 17th, 2021 at 9:27 AM ^
Definitely seems like it was simply misspelled… wonder if he’ll stick with it

Deuce is also a small fast car, like Springsteen (originally) sang, "Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night."

Beach Boys ~ Little Deuce Coupe
December 17th, 2021 at 10:28 AM ^
Ahh but Manfred Mann popularized it.
December 17th, 2021 at 2:56 PM ^
...and then wrapped it up like a...oh nevermind.
December 17th, 2021 at 12:30 PM ^
Duce is intentional. He said it was for leader.
Deuce would be relieving though, no one likes when it's hanging on, avoiding the inevitable.
December 17th, 2021 at 1:29 PM ^
shoulda gone with "Lil' Deuce Coupe"
December 17th, 2021 at 8:43 AM ^
anytime your QB is racing 30+ yards down the field to block for the ball carrier..... you gotta love that kid.
December 17th, 2021 at 9:02 AM ^
And not picking up a blocking in the back penalty either, and I don't say that lightly. In years past that is exactly what would have happened.
December 17th, 2021 at 9:01 AM ^
Prove it. I want a spring practice race video when both are fully healthy.
December 17th, 2021 at 9:08 AM ^
That's sad I always enjoyed when Denard would beat the RB/WR to the end zone.
December 17th, 2021 at 9:40 AM ^
What is there not to love about Denard....
December 17th, 2021 at 9:16 AM ^
Corum = Very very fast
December 17th, 2021 at 10:25 AM ^
Corum=Mike Hart but fast....very fast ???
December 17th, 2021 at 9:28 AM ^
Ha, that’s a great quote and exactly what I’d want to hear from a lightning fast running back with some swagger. He should think he’s the fastest dude around when he steps on the field. It’s pretty nuts to think there’s a quarterback on the squad who’s even in the conversation. I still have flashbacks of John Navarre running down the field against Minnesota escorted by a cadre of linemen. That play looked like a giraffe being escorted by a herd of elephants.
December 17th, 2021 at 9:36 AM ^
Exactly 2 weeks and Corum will unleash that speed on UGA!! JJ as well!! HAIL!!〽️
December 17th, 2021 at 9:52 AM ^
JJ: ".... and I took that personally."
December 17th, 2021 at 9:54 AM ^
i watched that last night 3-4 times ... it was pretty crazy how both anthony and jj gave everything to pave the path. you dont see that on every team. a QB and a WR behind the play catching up to get the guy in the endzone.
Pump it up!
December 17th, 2021 at 11:18 AM ^
Is Mike Sainristil nick-named 'Anthony'? Because Andrel Anthony (#1) wasn't anywhere near that action. However, Mike Sainristril (#5) made a good block, and JJ McCarthy (#9) kept pursuit from gaining on Corum (#2). Once Sainristil made the block in front, Corum accelerated to the EZ. Roman Wilson (#14) threw the first block that sprung him around the corner.
I really don't know why people have been getting Sainristil and Anthony confused on this play!
December 17th, 2021 at 10:39 AM ^
When your 5 star all world back-up QB blocks down the field to help beat OSU, you’ve got an actual TEAM.?
December 17th, 2021 at 10:56 AM ^
He didn’t really block so much as direct traffic. I think it worked in part because the defender was too baffled to know what to do. It was hilarious.
December 17th, 2021 at 11:13 AM ^
Boiled down to its bare basic essence, blocking is nothing more than 'getting in the way' - which is exactly what McCarthy did. Please don't minimize it...

"He's fast, I mean really really fast, he so fast he makes fast people look not fast." Unger.
