Submitted by DavidGoesBlue on

I think here would be a good place to put down U-M player results as we're watching it (or not)

I'll be updating this as we get the results:

Ben Braden

5.04 forty (Official)

25 reps

28" vertical

102 in. broad jump

De'Veon Smith

(Did not run the forty)

22 reps

Jabrill Peppers

5'10"7/8

213 lb

Jourdan Lewis

Taco Charlton

De'Veon participated in the "Reaction Drill." Basically a burst, stutter-step, cut, and run straight up field, so he's most likely not hurt. I think dodging the 40 was more indicative to his potential poor time...probably around 4.75-4.8.

over/under at one was 4.415 and the other was 4.37.........I like 'under' 4.415. Limits were low like $250 one place and $500 the other.

They had a handful of guys up for the sites. Not sure these are official yet but I may be 2-0 right now betting Fournette 'over' 4.43 which seemed way too low for a 240lb RB. Also had Delvin Cook 'over' 4.40.

stacks up to Denard's time of 4.43 at the combine.

Not sure but thought Peppers came in little heavier than I heard he be at 213 lbs.

Always felt Denard should have went down to 185 lbs for his combine and ran 4.35 maybe. Even though 4.43 is very solid for RB. Guess it worked out for him either way.

I've been saying I dont see Smith getting drafted due to his speed or lack thereof.  Him not running today confirms for me he knows the time would be pretty bad so he's going to run it at Michigan's pro day where he'll presumably time better.  Everybody else seems to think Smith is going middle rounds but I just dont see it.

Also, I sure hope Peppers times out well.  At 5'10 his size is going to work against him that's for sure.

BOTTOM LINE Teams looking for a runner with decent vision who finishes runs may have an interest in Smith, but his lack of juice or third down talent could keep his name from being called during the draft. Smith can grind out yardage between the tackles, but lacks any special qualities to help him stand out. Back end of the roster appears to be his ceiling.  LINK to the full analysis.
