Cinemark teams up with ESPN to play college playoff games in Theaters

The list from the linked site is a little misleading as those are the markets where this is available. This includes the Ann Arbor 20 + IMAX theater on Carpenter Rd. (actually in Ypsi).

I suppose you could try watching at Disney World instead... 

Not necessarily, based on how many people they allow in. It would be safer to watch the game in a theater where everybody is spread out, as opposed to someone's house where everybody's crammed into a living room. Again, if there are no capacity restrictions, then strike what I said. 

I suppose you think games should be played in empty stadiums as well?

Then stay home. The rest of us are moving on with almost zero risk if vaccinated and barely more than zero risk if not. It's time to move on. 

Why anyone would prefer to be inside of a tightly packed and dark movie theater with the movie theater food/drink options instead of a sports bar or even your living room is beyond me. And that's even without worrying about your increased risk for exposure to Covid.

Not that I want to watch in a movie theatre anyway...I'm surprised there is not one in North Carolina?  

Sort of bizarre there is not a DC area offering. I live on the Maryland side and Hanover (near BWI) is still too far to make it worth it for me. 

Look at Spider-Man...I could hardly find a parking spot last night. This whole "movie theaters are doomed" belief is bullshit.

 I used to freeze my junior mints when I'd get home from theater.

Maybe if they played The Killers' Mr. Brightside video instead of the commercials.

I have a toddler, sticky floors aren't exactly uncommon in my home.

IDK, took my kids to see Clifford the Big Red Dog last night.  My 6-year old loved it.

It was also nice that we were literally the only people in the theatre, everyone else was there for SpiderMan. 

That's how I feel about it too. I would end up in jail or institutionalized if I went to the theater and watched a Michigan Football game (or a Michigan Basketball game) in the same manner that I watch it at home.

My wife still worries that I might have damaged our daughter with my screaming during Michigan games when she was an infant. So that would be a hard pass for me, too. Since I live in Tallahassee, where a lot of Georgians work, I would not hope to encounter a super-sympathetic crowd. Depending on the location, I could see fights breaking out; let's all hope for a clear outcome, unmediated by awful refereeing. 

I think it could be fun for a game I'm not too invested in.  But for M football, if I'm not actually at the game, I'd much rather be at home on my own couch where there's no wait for drinks and no line for a bathroom.
