I'll explain it to you again, the Bay Area is so expensive, Manhattan is cheap by comparison. I've lived in Ann Arbor for most of my life except for three years at Belmont and Paulina between Lakeview and Roscoe Village, I will tell you the difference between Chicago and Ann Arbor is smaller than either Chicago or Ann Arbor compared to San Fran. I lived in two bedroom for $2000 a month in Chicago, I friend of mine has a studio in San Fran for $3500 per month,

Cumong guys.

No coach has ever picked a team based on relative cost of living.

"You know... I've decided against going to the New York (insert name of team) because my multi million dollar salary would go much further in Kansas City..."

These people will live very comfortably wherever they end up.

The Jay Cutler contract is the worst in the NFL. The defense is old and horrible. Forte is at the end of his career. The team is loaded with head cases and they pretty much have all quit. The main reason Harbaugh would not come to Michigan is geography. Raiders are the only real threat.

Much more job security at Michigan. He can come here and stay as long as he likes, watch his kids grow up in the same house, settle down, live the good life. In Chicago or anywhere else in the NFL you are always on the hot seat. He made three straight NFC championship games in SF and is going to get fired for a .500 season.

I'm inclined to believe that Jim Harbaugh is an ultra competitive guy. Since he has had quite a bit of success in the NFL, and the fact that his brother has won a super bowl ring, there could be at least one more reason for Jim to stay in the NFL. I hope I'm wrong, but...

Cutler is a coach killer and the Bears are in dire need of some defensive talent. It definitely is an attractive job. Much more than the Raiders. I could see him in the Windy City if the Bears let him have the control he wants.

The Raiders are a hot mess. They have two wins and have generally been uncompetitive. They also are lead by the Dutch Paint Boy who fired a PR guy because he failed to stop a negative article that was written about his father.

The Bears have a franchise RB, two excellent WRs, and a good TE. They also have sniffed success relatively recently. However, they a mess themselves. But I'd rather start off with Forte, Bennett, Jeffery, and Marshall than David Carr and Khalil Mack. God knows how Carr will develop and while a terrific player, Mack won't impact a game like the the aforementioned skill players. Plus, who knows where the Raiders will be playing next year.

This news scared me a little. Harbaugh can have instant success in Chicago with that team. The coaching staff was completely incompetent in every phase of the game, but I would still be disappointed if Harbaugh landed anywhere but A2. It's been a tough 2 years for me during football seasons.

Everyone knows that the Bears suck. Have the Lions beat anyone with a pulse this year? And don't tell me GB because they were horrible at the beginning of the year. The Lions are fortunate to have a weak schedule and they're taking advantage of it. Good for them. But let's not pretend they are a powerhouse and and rule the NFC North. They are not in the same league as GB. I, like others on this blog, am a Bears fan and a Michigan fan so football really sucks these last few years. Bears need a complete overhaul. Michigan needs Harbaugh. If Michigan can't get him then I hope my Bears do.

During his career so he already knows if he'd like it in the city. As a Chicagoan I'd love to see him as coach but not at UM's expense. If he was the Bears' coach I'd be sad while happy at the same time.

the bears are a complete disaster right now.  their offensive line may be worse than the contract they signed cutler to.  how old is jared allen, lance briggs and peanuts tillman's knees?  they are on a backwards slide, and a good coach wont help this team, in this division. as it currently stands.  Minny might be closer than the bears with their cap room and roster flexibility.
