Prices for everything in the Windy City are more expensive than Ann Arbor.

tell that to my landlord here in chicago please
(chicago and san fran, comparable. ann arbor, not so much)
December 16th, 2014 at 7:32 PM ^
bullshit...Ann Arbor is a huge step down in price from Chicago...Housing, parking, and taxes are just some of the examples where the expense in C-town FAR exceeds that in Ann Arbor
December 16th, 2014 at 7:36 PM ^
Agreed. I currently live in Chicago and I love it here, but I can't wait to move back to A2 because its so expensive to live in the city.

the comparison is between Chicago and AA. I agree both are cheaper than SF, but among the CHOICES, AA is cheaper than Chicago.
December 17th, 2014 at 9:28 AM ^
But all three are more expensive that Milan MI, therefore, they are all roughly the same...
December 16th, 2014 at 7:45 PM ^
I think that's the point. $7 million in Chicago gives you elite status in an expensive town. $7 million in Ann Arbor makes you ... the landlord of a bunch of crappy student houses?

you're probably not stuck with him, either.

Would you really want Jay Cutler as your QB?

Cumong guys.
No coach has ever picked a team based on relative cost of living.
"You know... I've decided against going to the New York (insert name of team) because my multi million dollar salary would go much further in Kansas City..."
These people will live very comfortably wherever they end up.

The main reason Harbaugh would not come to Michigan is geography. Raiders are the only real threat.
I'm inclined to believe that Jim Harbaugh is an ultra competitive guy. Since he has had quite a bit of success in the NFL, and the fact that his brother has won a super bowl ring, there could be at least one more reason for Jim to stay in the NFL. I hope I'm wrong, but...

I think ( and really really hope ) that you're right.
December 16th, 2014 at 8:11 PM ^
They shout "Harbaugh wants to win a Super Bowl" in the same sentence as "Harbaugh to the Jets or Raiders"
December 16th, 2014 at 6:55 PM ^
Cutler is a coach killer and the Bears are in dire need of some defensive talent. It definitely is an attractive job. Much more than the Raiders. I could see him in the Windy City if the Bears let him have the control he wants.

Beg to differ. Raiders have a promising upstart QB in Carr and one of the best LBs in the game being a rock on defense in Khalil Mack...
Raiders > Bears. Ownership is different under the younger Davis too it seems.
December 16th, 2014 at 7:59 PM ^
The Raiders are a hot mess. They have two wins and have generally been uncompetitive. They also are lead by the Dutch Paint Boy who fired a PR guy because he failed to stop a negative article that was written about his father.
The Bears have a franchise RB, two excellent WRs, and a good TE. They also have sniffed success relatively recently. However, they a mess themselves. But I'd rather start off with Forte, Bennett, Jeffery, and Marshall than David Carr and Khalil Mack. God knows how Carr will develop and while a terrific player, Mack won't impact a game like the the aforementioned skill players. Plus, who knows where the Raiders will be playing next year.

I was listenign to the radio the other day and I would of swore they said that Cutler is cutable... expensive but cutable...
then I looked at it online and I don't think it is true.

Not as long as the Lions and Packers are in the same division.

Everyone knows that the Bears suck. Have the Lions beat anyone with a pulse this year? And don't tell me GB because they were horrible at the beginning of the year. The Lions are fortunate to have a weak schedule and they're taking advantage of it. Good for them. But let's not pretend they are a powerhouse and and rule the NFC North. They are not in the same league as GB. I, like others on this blog, am a Bears fan and a Michigan fan so football really sucks these last few years. Bears need a complete overhaul. Michigan needs Harbaugh. If Michigan can't get him then I hope my Bears do.
December 17th, 2014 at 10:08 AM ^
Besides, this year's NFC North champion is the Buffalo Bills
December 16th, 2014 at 8:17 PM ^
lol, have you seen the Bears defense and Cutler? They'd struggle to get to 9-10 wins next season with Harbaugh.
The Raiders has a better chance of an upward trajectory than the Bears. The Bears simply need to clean house with the exception of a few promising young players.

If he was the Bears' coach I'd be sad and sad.
December 16th, 2014 at 6:59 PM ^
Id say Chicago would be a problem. Decent talent and probably ready to win now.
December 16th, 2014 at 7:01 PM ^
Their OL isn't good either. The Bears are really in a rebuild mode. They seem better than what they are because of the offensive skill they have. But they have too many holes on defense and the offensive line to be a true threat to the Packers.
December 16th, 2014 at 7:32 PM ^
Rebuild mode with a QB that signed a big contract extension.
December 16th, 2014 at 7:40 PM ^
the bears are a complete disaster right now. their offensive line may be worse than the contract they signed cutler to. how old is jared allen, lance briggs and peanuts tillman's knees? they are on a backwards slide, and a good coach wont help this team, in this division. as it currently stands. Minny might be closer than the bears with their cap room and roster flexibility.
