CC - Jim Harbaugh Wearing Our Colors

Why do I get the feeling there are going to be a lot of new threads in the coming weeks that remind me of posting on Haloscan?
October 28th, 2014 at 5:16 PM ^
seems that it was alma mater day in 49ers camp, so that would be the reason:

It seems as if someone just saw the GTech-Pitt game....

Choppin' that wood.
Grobe Mafia!!!
The boats..the god damn boats.
In all seriousness, can you believe we're about to go down this road AGAIN! Haloscan were some dark days, but man, some good times.

Haloscan was the commenting platform of the first iteration of MGoBlog. In 2007, during the first coaching search, a core group of us would basically spend all day waiting for Brian to make a new post on the blog, which would cause us to jump to that new post and make comments on it. There was no forum topics, and were no diaries. You just commented on Brian's posts, with the invevitable "first" attempted if you thought you were the first commentor on a new post.
It was all rather primitive, in hindsight. But man, I wish I would have kept an archive of all the comment threads on posts. Some funny, funny stuff.

Isn't it all still there? Might take a while to sift through though.

fun. Sorry I arrived here so recently, but maybe in 7 or 8 years we'll look back on these days the same way...

I discovered the blog in the final days of the haloscan era. I was only a lurker back then.

Unfortunately, I think the response right now would be a definitive "maybe."

I am wondering if my memory is getting back to where it used to be and you're the man to help me. Did you once sit in a work bathroom stall and have feces drip on you from above?
October 28th, 2014 at 6:26 PM ^
I have no idea how I still remember this, given that I basically took a two year hiatus from this site. But that guy's name is/was "BlueintheLou".
October 28th, 2014 at 8:35 PM ^
One does not simply take a hiatus from mgoblog

"I used to stare down at that field as I was stenciling those numbers," Harbaugh told reporters, athletes and others who crowded into the Arrillaga Family Sports Center's Kissick Auditorium. "I so very badly wanted to go to Stanford and play for the Cardinal. … This was my number-one choice all along."

He's already had his dream job in college, and it wasn't Michigan. He ain't coming here.
October 28th, 2014 at 5:00 PM ^
But did he give a knowing wink when asked about Email-gate?

With that one simple remark about him wearing a Maize undershirt, the amound of views will increase by 50k for this simple article.
October 28th, 2014 at 5:04 PM ^
Well . . . . why shouldn't they?

Maybe he's going to go coach at Cal so that he can beat up on the Stanford program he built? :)
In all seriousness, just make this happen. For the love of all that is good in the world, get Harbaugh here.
October 28th, 2014 at 5:16 PM ^
For all of the skepticism I have expressed about JH coming to Michigan, the guy has boundless enthusiasm and energy, as well as a genuine mean streak, and I would love to have him coaching our guys.
October 28th, 2014 at 5:19 PM ^
Yes we are MGoBloggers, yes we are.
October 28th, 2014 at 5:21 PM ^
"The San Francisco 49ers returned from their bye week on Monday and held a light practice at their facility that ended with a team photo of all the players who earned degrees wearing their respective college colors.
And yes, coach Jim Harbaugh had on his Michigan colors underneath his 49ers fleece."
Everyone was doing it. It's a non-story.
October 28th, 2014 at 5:22 PM ^
THAT is what is important.
October 28th, 2014 at 5:24 PM ^
Are you saying Henry Winkler is the new coach?
Where's Raback when we need him?
October 28th, 2014 at 6:24 PM ^
If it was the Fonz, I would feel much better, although I could see him making Potsy and Ralph the two coordinators, and I don't feel great about that.

Um.... (front row, second guy).
Am I missing something or does grey fleece with a Michigan shirt underneath really mean grey shirt without a Michigan shirt underneath.
October 28th, 2014 at 5:37 PM ^
So it's possible fleece is much thinner out there. Maybe JH flashed his Michigan T, I wonder if espn.com got a pic?
