Drink every time he says "Conference of Champions". You'll be seeing double by halftime.

Walton's problem is that he was the regular color guy for the Clippers when they sucked, which is pretty much always, so he got used to talking about anything but the game.

Does he understand the "process?"

This game is already bad enough, it doesn't need Walton to make it any worse yet he's doing his best.

He's always been terrible

Counterpoint: Bill Walton thinks Dave Pasch is useless, much like I do.  And he is unafraid to say it, even when Pasch is sitting right next to him.  Therefore Walton makes the game a more fun experience.

I adore Bill Walton announcing games. He pays more attention when it's the tournament or a big game. But look, a Washington State vs. Oregon game in mid-February? Give me the guy who wants to take me on a stroll down memory lane. He is an absolute gem! 

Actually I enjoy listening to him.  Far better than the standard stream of drivel.

Maybe more of them should be buzzed.

Very weird dynamic.

People love Mike Leach (who I think knows that people love him being weird and has ramped it up to make it clear to the world) and post threads whenever he says something about pirates or girlfriends or whatever weird shit he says.

And yet don't like Bill Walton, who is basically the color commentary version of Mike Leach.

Terrible take. Awful poster. Bill Walton is the goat of commentary. No one cares about the shitty game hes calling, we want life anecdotes from the life guru himself.

I was just talking to a friend on mine about this. Hes a NC fan and said he has muted 2 of his games because of Walton. 

I love him. Different strokes. 

Bill Walton is a freak and a very weird dude.

Bill is getting up there in age and his shtick was always a little off kilter. I had the pleasure of meeting him in the mid 90’s in San Diego and he was terrific, engaged with my small kids and signed autographs for us. Genuinely nice human being. 

You just figured that one out? 

Dude has been this way for years. I think he's hilarious. Shows up and just starts going on Grateful Dead tangents. He once asked his partner in the middle of a game, just completely unprovoked, "You ever been to a volcano that's erupting?" 

Literally unprovoked question, and not even in the middle of a timeout. In the middle of play. I get that he's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, especially if you're looking for serious analysis of what you're watching in the game. I just think he's a hoot to listen to. 

I'd pay good money to see him and Dick Vitale do a game together.
