BBQ Visitors
This weekend is the BBQ at the Big House. I have at least 21 offered, uncommitted prospects in town this weekend, and that doesn't include the vast majority of the 2020 class right now. The only 2020 commits not slated to visit (AFAIK) are J.D. Johnson, Roman Wilson, Jeffrey Persi, Kris Jenkins, and Nick Patterson.
R.J. Moten is supposed to announce his commitment tomorrow...while he's at Michigan.
There's also buzz about at least one more guy potentially committing.
I encourage you to watch the highlights of 2021 RB Corey Kiner, who has exceptional balance. I like that kid.
Yesiree...that kid can run! Kiner, Edwards, Turner and Charbonnet would make an RB room that would SURELY pacify the hand-wringers.
How many stars does he have? Is he a Top 100 recruit?
We should wait to offer until the recruiting services rate him, to make sure.

His highlights look really good. He seems more shifty/elusive than Donovan Edwards. Edwards looks to run with more power. (I realize I'm basing this off of Sophomore highlight tapes.) Does Michigan have room to take 2 running backs next year?
Michigan has "room" for those two. And yes-those are tapes of sophomore kids...by their senior years they may well be .98/.99 high 4/5 star players. Surely love Kiner's speed-again, this is as a sophomore!!!
Donovan Edwards has the best highlight tape I've seen in 2021 at RB. There's actually another RB in Ohio named Jaylen Anderson who I think might be better than Kiner. Two different style backs however.
I'll take Kiner over Anderson at RB-much more fluid, high ceiling athlete...certainly preferred in what we expect from a Gattis offense. Now, I will take Anderson as a LB-he is a beast who loves to bring the wood.

Agreed. TTB, Mgoblog and Mgofish are staples for Michigan recruiting fans.

Moten for sure...likely Paige and another surprise or two might show up for the 2020 class. With all those 2021 kids attending and McCarthy coming to rep for the class...who knows how many of them commit. Should be a very exciting weekend for Michigan football.
Would be good to make progress on Spindler, Dellinger, Edwards and Payne - getting out in front for those guys would be huge for locking down the state and great additions to the class.
My annual query ...Who's doing the cooking/BBQing? Last year it was the same day as the ICC soccer game so they were over at Glick. Not technically "at the Big House". Two years ago they had it up in the suites with catering by Siris with chicken they made a couple hours earlier in their restaurant. Other years they had a portable grill right on the 50 yd line making burgers , dogs and sausages. Food matters to these fine young men!
None of that sounds like BBQ. Get some of the southern recruits to come up early and give them a whole hog to work with.
Texan bbq masters would dispute the necessity of the hog, and their beef is good eatin'. Whatever. I'm agnostic. I just like to eat.
Lived in Texas for a few years and never could get the appeal of beef BBQ though the smoked turkey at Pecan Lodge was the best I've had. Pork is where it's at for me.
Where did you live in Texas that you didn't get amazing beef brisket?
Franklin's, Salt Lick, Pecan Lodge, etc. Brisket mystifies me... ok you took a crap piece of meat and made it marginally less crappy, congrats!
Went to Pecan Lodge a few years ago, visiting a friend who lives in Dallas. I dont even eat beef except on very rare occassions, but the brisket at Pecan Lodge is pretty next level.
BBQ brisket >BBQ pork.

When you are sub 4.4 and 44” vertical you can play almost any position in high school and change the game. His body just works differently than other kids’.
It probably isn't super unique to do that, but I do remember watching Reggie Bush in high school line up at punter and then just take the snap and run for first downs.
Im far too inexperienced to tell if HS wide receivers are any good going up against HS defensive backs but he seems fast and smooth runner. One thing's for sure, he seems to be goin' hard every play.
Is this the weekend we'll start to see their focus on the 2021 class begin to take shape? I'm hoping DT, WR, and CB are a major focus in the next class.
I think they have 2020 pretty much figured out given the number of commits. I think they’d like to close with Moten, Paige, Rice, and Theo Johnson, plus maybe a CB.
A lot of major 2021 kids on campus, including Jordan Morant’s teammate Tywone Malone and Belleville’s Damon Payne, so definitely some big time DTs on radar. Corey Kiner and Donovan Edwards would be a massive RB haul.
Payne would be a nice get.
What is the technology employed here that speeds him up and slows everyone else down??? But seriously, again, we are talking about the speed of this kid as, likely, a 15 year old playing against many who are two years older!
We need to sign this kid before the Department of Defense signs him to harness his powers.
His QB is pretty good at dropping those high arcing bombs right into his hands.
