I don't really see that either.  Webber was much more powerful and physically imposing but probably not as good a shooter.  If anything, I would say more like a more polished Maceo Baston (more physically developed and better shooter but a similar type of dynamic big man).  I also think he's very comparable to Todd last year but a bit stronger and maybe taller.  JMO.

Webber by a fairly big margin.  He was unanimous #1 over multiple sources. That was over some other HUGE names like Glen Robinson, Jason Kidd, Travis Best, Cory Alexander, Juwan Howard, Alan Henderson, Voshon Leanard, Jalen Rose.

Webber and Howard were the 2 big fishes (in that order) with Rose extremely close, then King.  Jackson was the outlier - if my horrible memory serves me right he would have been ranked around #125 plus or minus 25 spots.

That was a surprise. Completely out of left field, but I'm happy because he was my #1 preference out of the bigs left in the recruiting board. He's a perfect modern big and his offensive development can't be ignored. If he can continue to get better at it, he should be a lottery pick when all is said and done.

It's great to be a Michigan basketball fan!

Yeah this is a nice complimentary piece to Dickinson.  Reid would have been similar to Dickinson (which is still a good thing!).  But this guy is going to add a different dimension.  Howard will be able to plug and play these 2 depending on the circumstances.

That's what makes his commitment so great is he can fit in seamlessly with any lineup. Can play PF alongside Dickinson while covering Dickinson's lack of foot speed at the backside. He also can play C if they decide to go small and he's a perfect modern C who can keep up with smaller C while providing blocked shots. He'll give you enough spacing from the paint if he can continue to develop his offensive game. I'm sure Juwan will help him work on it
