Basketball Banner Now?

I bet you Brian and Seth would consider these repeated requests more carefully if people would take the extra step of actually designing something rather than just demanding that someone else do it. People generally don't enjoy being told what to do.

The spring game is on Saturday. Denard is gonna be awesome.

for the team opposite Devin in a winner gets steaks, loser gets hot dogs matchup tomorrow. Denard and Devin get to pick the teams. No contact on the QB's.

I thought this was a safe place now...
I mean...I guess Brian could do that. But I really hope he doesn't. Without diminishing Michigan's recent basketball success and how spectacular it was to see, football>>>basketball for me. And that's without yet mentioning footballas Michigan's athletic flagship and the same for this here blog.
Well, basketball >>>> football for me, so by your logic, the banner should be basketball.

I think a lot of us who came of age as sports fans during the Fab Five years regard the two sports as pretty close to equal in importance. And yeah, we definitely should have had Trey on the banner. He's the basketball equivalent of a Heisman winner.
I thought this had to do with a Fab Five banner.
Why would we put up a basketball now? It's football season now.

Guess this further supports my view that mgoblog = football and UMHoops= basketball.

They get the interview footage and transcripts up amazingly quick. It's always the first stop when you want to re-live the game the morning after. And his previews are very very analytical...You will get your full dose of Pomeroy and advanced statistics to be sure...
But let's face it...the writing has improved drastically, but it's still dry and devoid of style. If Dylan had hired Ace instead of Brian, umhoops would be everyone's go-to...But he didn't, and it isn't.
I think we missed the boat on this. I don't see an issue with changing it at the end of football next year though.

Lets celebrate the Bball team...make them the banner...it isn't football season till late August anyways
Spring game is Saturday, therefore football season has already started.

I'm all for celebrating the Basketball Team, but thinking that Football season ends is just crazy talk.
Not really sure what the hell this thread is supposed to be about... Are you fucking with me Bobby D???
will always be football. The slogan is "subs," though, and basketball should be happy with that. That is a pretty lofty spot.
Let's have them a banner even if it's only till football season starts (No. The spring game does not count as the start of football seaon)

Will the banner say NCAA Final Four or NCAA Runner-Up?
April 12th, 2013 at 10:42 AM ^
1993
NCAA
finalist
Though it was taken down, I believe our 3013 banner will read the same, showing we made the championship game.

Those were the old style of banners, whch were replaced in the Amaker years and then again this past season.
The current ones just say "FINAL FOUR" on them, regardless of whether we lost in the semis (as in 1964) or made the championship game (as in 1965, 1976 and 1989). So it will almost certainly just say "2013 FINAL FOUR."

I'd feature Lewan and each of the starters who return to the basketball team, hopefully riding a foursie with McGary trailing behind on a unicycle.
Edit: You've almost got to put Spike in the basket too...with Kate Upton? Would that be too busy?
What do you think Six Zero, can you make it happen?April 12th, 2013 at 11:50 AM ^
...that is all.

We just won a National Championship in Swimming & Diving.

Took a shot.
YES PLEASE. LET LOGIC PREVAIL. Basketball deserves to be the banner Vanna White. It was an incredible season with ups and (relative) downs that engrossed us all.
Try filling it with self importance like I do. Super cheap and super fun
We should have had one during the season, certainly during the stretch run/tournament. We had a team ranked in the top 5 virtually all season and the NPOY front-runner (who went on to win those awards).
Football may attract the most interest over the course of the year, but I'm not sure if that was the case over the past six weeks or so. I'd be curious to know how many pageviews the handful of spring football articles got in comparison to the various March Madness articles. Personally, I found myself consumed by the basketball and not really thinking too much about football during the tourney run.
