B1G as Simpson's characters
Saw this on Chris from Smart Football's Twitter feed. Visual representation of the B1G conference in the form of Simpson's characters. Pretty spot on...

Smithers LOL. I can't see him burning couches.

Sounds about right. I really like that MSU is the Smithers to our Burns.

I don't know if I get them all, but MSU being the Smithers to UM's Mr. Burns is brilliant.

Can someone explain who the bee guy is and how that fits Iowa and who Northwestern is and why that fits?
Apologies for the ignorance.

Bee guy's color scheme fits Iowa? And... Northwestern academics matches the intellectual guy with glasses?

The bee guy character's name is "Bumblebee Man", he speaks with a Latino accent and he fits Iowa probably because they're both Yellow and Black.
The bumblebee man always has something bad happening to him. I thought he was referencing the AIRBHG.
I guess that could also have been ol' Gil...something.

Yeah also why is Illinois Martin?
maybe cause Martin always gets beat up? But it might fight Northwestern better.
Excellent
Hans Moleman needs to be Maryland. Who looks more turtle-like on the Simpsons?
Nebraska gets Duff Man...
Rainier Wolfcastle for Nebraska.
.....but I immediately pictured Penn State as:
I deserve any and all downvotes this post receives.
Not going to downvote you. If we can be honest with ourselves, you just posted what everyone else is thinking.
Even though it's low hanging fruit, the more one thinks about it the more levels it works on.

Yes, all gay people are child molesters.
LOL, Milhouse as Purdue... Gil would have worked as well.
Nah, that never would have worked with Pelini as the head coach. Ranier seems about right. I could see Purdue as Flanders - really nice, surprisingly buff, but always the butt of jokes.
"Release the Wolverines!" - I mean "Release the hounds!" Nah, I meant Wolverines . . .
The fakey veneer of Urb should have had Ohio as Troy McClure.
Somebody should feed that to an MSU fan board. Let them see themselves as others see them.
Snake would've been a great fit for Ohio.
Nah. I think Fat Tony is perfectly cast there for OSU. Corrupt, always finding ways to cheat and break the law even when he gets caught. Snake is more on his own. Fat Tony is a mafia boss and the whole OSU family is kind of like a mafia.
I've loved the Simpsons since they first aired in '89. But I can't make any connection between Nebraska and Rainer Wolfecastle. Maybe because they both have accents?
That's the joke.
I love the fact that Disco Stu is Indiana.
I saw this and was immediately drawn to Disco Stu as Indiana, and then it dawned on me that Disco Stu, in about 30 years, will bear an eerie resemblence to Lee Corso. I wonder if this is more than a coincidence.
"Did you know that Indiana more than doubled its win total in 1976? If this trend continues...ayyyy..."
Jim Delaney is clearly Diamond Joe Quimby.
I like Ralph Wiggum but I'm still going to say, "ouch" for Minnesota. Do Minnesota fans see leprechauns?
Or is it because Ralph kind of looks like a Gopher?
Illinois' woes in 2011-2012 sound way more Millhouse-ian to me.
6-0 start! Everything's coming up Millhouse!
0-6 finish. Oh, right.
James Anthony Traficant, Jr. (born May 8, 1941) Ohio Congressman, from Youngstown, expelled after being convicted of taking bribes, filing false tax returns, racketeering, and forcing his aides to perform chores at his farm in Ohio and houseboat in Washington, D.C..[1] He was sentenced to prison.
Barney and Wisconsin were meant for each other. I see Illinois as being more like Kearney or one of the other sociopaths; Martin is too nice!
I would have also accepted Snake, the criminal thug.

...with the exception of Vanderbilt, is all Cletus.
