I can tell how many people here have never worked with youths from the communities that college football recruits often come from. |
| 1 day 12 hours ago | Carlos Hyde is the best |
Carlos Hyde is the best player on Ohio's offense. Great size and speed and he hits the hole like a dump truck. He'd be a monster in a pro-style offense. |
| 2 weeks 2 days ago | Ohio produces well over twice |
Ohio produces well over twice as many D1 recruits as Michigan year in year out, and the state is recruited heavily by all the national players. The 2/3 star players that Cincinnatti can pull in aren't guys who wind up at Ohio State. We always have been and always will be the biggest threat to pluck top Ohio recruits. |
| 2 weeks 4 days ago | Interesting stuff in there. |
Interesting stuff in there. I'm sure everyone will feign outrage, but Gee didn't say anything that every sports writer and commentator has acknowledged as truth. The B1G isn't going to take schools of low academic standards, Maryland and Rutgers was a TV money grab, Ohio can't lock down Cinncinnatti, etc. The only controversy is that everyone in the NCAA lives a lie that somehow college athletics are an amateur sport. |

Everybody kills people, everybody steals, everybody has 22 drinks. You, me, everybody. |

And as others have mentioned, LinkedIn has been the only social media platform I can say successfully helped my career. Facebook and Twitter are just too unprofessional by nature. |
| 6 weeks 6 days ago | I'm an engineer and this |
I'm an engineer and this question made me feel really old. BACK IN MY DAY (10 years ago) college sponsored career fairs are where I had the best luck picking up internships and making connections with potential employers. I work in the engineering department of a very large utility company now, and can say that 95% of the interns we hire are interviewed at college career fairs, and most of them are offered full time positions once they graduate. So really use to the full extent possible the resources at school. You're paying them, after all, for it. |

TIL that some people still think that modern university presidents are anything other than glorified sales people and fund raisers. Wealthy donors love sports as much as the rest of us. |

I blame Al Borges. Should have ran it in. |
| 12 weeks 12 hours ago | He's wearing a single ply |
He's wearing a single ply bench press shirt. I'm no gear expert but it looks like a Katana. Depending on how much you train in the gear, you can probably get 150-250 pounds out of one, especially if you are able to touch the bar below your sternum as he did. It's impressive; no doubt, but the open age single ply bench press record for his weight class is north of 800. Only two people have ever bench pressed 700 pounds without a shirt in competition, Big James Henderson and Scot Mendelson. And Scot has done north of 1000 pounds with a shirt on. |

Yes, all gay people are child molesters. |
| 13 weeks 6 days ago | The ABC story was horribly |
The ABC story was horribly written (which I assume is why they redacted it), but let's get this straight: Of the three people involved, the one who is accused of committing sexual assault is no longer on their team, one is currently on the team but appears to only be listed on the warrant to have his cell phone confiscated for evidence at this time, and the third was a recruit who did not commit to Ohio. |

There were a lot of rumors on Ohio boards that Pittman was leaving due to some off the field troubles that hadn't fully surfaced yet. It's pretty easy to connect the dots back to him. Hopefully this isn't true. |
| 14 weeks 6 days ago | I would not be surprised to |
I would not be surprised to see them start shedding running backs. Hyde, Rod Smith, Brionte Dunn, Warren Ball, and Ezekiel Elliot are all 4/5 star guys now in a offense where the RB is splitting his carries with the QB and the hybrid "Percy Harvin" position. B1G rules probably mean we are unlikely candidates, though. Unless one of them has a family who can pay their way. |

The player's unions are the real driving force behind limiting the scope and methods of testing. |

The USADA has no oversight of the NBA, NFL, MLB, or NHL. Those sports manage their drug policies and testing internally and can do as they please. They only monitor Olympic sports and international sports that contract with them for WADA approved testing (like cycling). . |
| 15 weeks 11 hours ago | After how much PED's have |
After how much PED's have been in the news the past several years, it's still insane to me how little people understand about them. Lance Armstrong weighed 155 pounds and won 7 Tour De France's, so do you think he was clean or wasn't using them well? The effects of steroids are not limited to muscle hypertrophy. Things like insulin, GH, and hCG are not even steroids. 15 minutes on Wikipedia, people. |
| 15 weeks 6 days ago | I imagine it was mostly them |
I imagine it was mostly them talking about who loves Tressell more. |
| 15 weeks 6 days ago | Jim Bollman was the most |
Jim Bollman was the most wildly incompetent OC in the B1G. They suceeded because they recruited great athletes and Tressel called the plays. Bollman called their plays in 2011 and I can only hope the lulz extend to East Lansing. |
| 18 weeks 5 hours ago | Student athletes are |
Student athletes are representing the university, given tens of thousands of dollars worth of tuition, and exclusive use of millions of dollars worth of university facilities. Not to mention how much money is paid to all of the staff that is there merely to coach those student athletes. A $400 Ipad with clear educational use isn't where any reasonable person starts questioning the value and expense of student athletics. Shit, I had $400 books for engineering classes. |

Michigan and Ohio State do the same. We went through this last year. |
| 18 weeks 1 day ago | The only thing that fell off |
The only thing that fell off was a latop from Cam Newton's window. Florida finished with the #2 ranked class the year he resigned and was never lower than #10 throughout his tenure. |
| 18 weeks 6 days ago | Not to mention he has never |
Not to mention he has never verballed anywhere, and Bama and later Tennessee were leading throughout his recruitment. If there's anything to relish in, it will be Elliot picking Missouri because he was the #1 offensive player on their board and committed for a year. |
| 19 weeks 7 hours ago | Yes! Woe to the university |
Yes! Woe to the university that had to suffer a 7-6 season after winning two national titles, a Heisman, and pulling away the heir apparent to the biggest brand in college football to be their next head coach who has them respositioned for a title run with a 11-2 record and is pulling down top recruiting classes. Urban is a shithead, but Florida fans are insufferable. |
| 19 weeks 10 hours ago | I believe he will finish out |
I believe he will finish out his 7 year contract, but isn't a lifer. Even though the Midwest has less talent, Ohio State and Michigan are the only game in town for the forseeable future and he will always be able to pull the players he needs to run his offense. |
