They didn't sharpen their swords back in the day? That seems...unlikely.

Anyway, I'm more than halfway through these comments and no one actually mentioned uniforms yet, so I'll put this here...

Those uniformz are...awesome actually. Tastefully done. Nothing over the top. Camo uniforms are the ugliest things ever.

One of the worst punishments I've ever heard of was the oubliette, or forgotten chamber, used in medieval Europe.  It was a shaft just wide enough for a person to stand in; they couldn't sit, kneel or turn around.  Some weren't tall enough for them to stand up straight.  If the claustrophia wasn't enough, the physical cramping must have been brutal.  Prisoners would be put in there and left to slowly die.

I had a discussion with a JoePa-worshipping Penn State fan the other day that made me want to bash my head against a wall. What's weird is that this guy was an educated, otherwise rational human being. When it comes to the subject of JoePa, these Penn State people retreat into an alternate universe where Joe Paterno did nothing wrong and the entire world is just conspiring against Penn State out of jealousy over Paterno's success. They genuinely seem to believe that. It's mystifying.

Thanks for posting. This is a great tribute to the men of the USS Arizona and to the men and women of Pearl Harbor. It really was a day that would live on infamy. The loss of life that followed in the war in the Pacific, coupled with the war in Europe is a tragedy that must be remembered with reverence.

Arizona against Hawai'i.  Perfect day to honor the fallen.  Hopefully, they'll do some special tributes during the intermissions and pregame.  The unis look great and it looks like someone tried hard to make them very appropriate.

Honest question, what would you say are 2 of the biggest events in America's history since 1776? Sure, a lot of people who like history put too much emphasis on war, but it is a pretty big deal. Also, it works well when pinpointing an event, rather than a trend or shift, even if that trend or shift may be greatly important. I don't think you can underestimate how big the Civil War was. I mean, the country as we know it literally wouldn't exist if it had gone differently.

Having said that, I'd say Salvatore missed a really really big event after 1776, namely the signing of the Constitution? Hard to put anything over that. Or the whole rest of the revolution after 1776. Maybe Salvatore should have said after the revolution.

Hey, OP, would it kill you to have a more informative title?  I almost skipped this thread because I generally despise uniform threads, but this one is awesome.
