Anybody know which officiating crew we're getting on Saturday?

There's got to be a resource out there where this is available, but I can't find it.

So, I just saw John O'Neill talking to Dr. Leeds from the Leeds' institute in California.  You may remember him as the guy that cloned Michael Keaton, twice, and then cloned one of the clones.  I think that should answer your question...

John O'Neil, Reggie Smith, Dan Cappron, Bo Boroski and Teddy Valentine.  A few came out of retirement just for this occasion.

I would bet we get O'Neil.  Look for some phantom pass interference calls against us as well as no holding calls against MSU with Hutchinson getting tackled to the ground on every play.

It really doesnt matter because this is what's going to happen because this is what always happens:

1. They wont make any offensive holding calls no matter how egregious for either team.

2. They will let the MSU DBs "get physical" with our receivers.  In other words they wont call defensive PI on them.  State knows this going in which is precisely why they "get physical" with our WRs.

3. They will however call at least one, probably two, defensive PI's against us.  Both of which will cause Gus and whoever else in the booth to say "I dont know about that one.  Maybe he got a little of his arm there....I dunno."

4. In end none of it matters - 27-17 Michigan.

This question is really asking about John O'Neill, of course.

O'Neill, for some reason, tends to get assigned to the B1G's bigger games.  He also tends to do 1-2 games for every conference team per season.  He has already done one OSU game (vs Tulsa) and one PSU game (vs. Iowa) this year.  He has also done one MSU game (vs Indiana) and two U-M games (vs. Western Michigan and vs. Wisconsin).

I honestly think he will be assigned to neither U-M/MSU or PSU/OSU.  For that, we should all be grateful.

The O'Neill crew was actually pretty competent this time other than some bad spots of the ball (which went both ways).  The Wisconsin game was better officiated than whatever crew we had for Nebraska.  I think the Roundtable guys mentioned that the O'Neill crew got rid of their worst official from past years.

Pretty sure that information is kept from the public for gambling reasons.

I don't think it will be O"neill.  They will get the OSU-PSU game.  Before thise year the dog covered 65% of the time

The big ten will want that game close

I have seen John O'Neill mentioned several times above, but he is one I would bet against. Michigan has already seen O'Neill twice so far this year. MSU had O'Neill in their last game vs Indiana. We had Jeff Servinski last week. I don't think you will see either of those two.

We have not had Jerry McGinn or Mark Kluczynski yet. MSU has not seen Ron Snodgrass yet. I am betting on one of those, most likely McGinn.

Here is the list I've seen so far, and they all sound vaguely familiar:

Marvin "Majestic" Johnson

Gan Dilbert

Kirt Glbman

Some Rapper's Daughter

Former Governor John Ranchard

Could you imagine how much better football we would be watching if they actually expected the refs to work for NCAA full time (which they have more than enough money to do so? The NFL refs are obviously not perfect but it is amazing how many calls they get right. NCAA football can and should be the same way. It will never happen because the NCAA is too greedy to get out of their own way to make the experience for the players and fans better.
