Alvin Bailey Top 8
Per his twitter, a.Bailey™ @HawkStarAB
1.UCF 2.MICHIGAN 3.FLORIDA STATE 4.SOUTH CAROLINA 5.NOTRE DAME 6.GEORGIA 7.AUBURN 8.TEXAS A&M
EDIT: In no particular order
But I do see us near the top of that list and I will overreact accordingly.
Especially 'cause, like, UCF? I mean come on, now.
Don't forget that UCF was in our beloved Denard's top group as well...when I saw that he considered KState and UCF in that career video of his the other day, my opinion of those two universities skyrocketed.
Good point, also Leilon Willingham a 4* LB chose UCF over us in 2011.
Plus, Bailey is on record stating that distance from home will be a factor in his decision. Hence, UCF, FSU...
find often order important that I is.
No PSU?
Do we consider taking Treadwell AND Bailey. I've always heard that Treadwell's spot is secure. But what if Bailey commits before McQuay or another potential recruit pulls the trigger? Would Hoke take both? Bailey is a smaller guy and, given our other WR recruits, is of a different mold. Also, given the weak spot on the roster, I wouldn't be surprised if Hoke took both.
Agree... I think the lack of depth at WR relative to DBs, in combination with the talent of both Treadwell and Bailey, dictates that Hoke should take both... if the stars allign and that becomes a possibility.
A more intriguing question, given that Bailey and McQuay are teammates, whiat if we were faced with the choice of Bailey and McQuay as a package OR Treadwell?
Personally I think that the WR combo is better than if we get McQuay and one WR. We have some nice safety prospects committed/ enrolled. From what I have seen of recent 7 on 7 stuff and camps, Bailey just gets open and has very nice hands. Doesn't have a ton of explosiveness yet, but seems to track and catch the ball very easily. And from his highlight tape, he is very, very elusive with the ball in his hands. People like to compare the Borges offense to the Patriots, so shouldn't we have a welker-like guy? I think Bailey (plus a few pounds of course) could be of service.
I'll +1 that. With all the size we've been bringing in at WR there are going to be some openings underneath and a guy like Bailey would be perfect. Granted we already have Gallon and players like Justice Hayes and Norfleet could be used in that capacity but I am a big big fan of Bailey and I do have a soft spot for shifty slot receivers (just not when all your WR's fit that description, are you listening Rich Rod?). If I had to pick one or the other I would obviously take Treadwell but I'd rather have LT and Bailey than LT and Mcquay.
EDIT: Sorry about the grammar/mispellings. Took the day off today and haven't had my coffee yet.
I just don’t see it happening with Bailey alone. He seriously wants to stay south and IMO only way he comes north is if joining McQuay.
