Which, as we know, is TBD.

Asked if they're facing any disciplinary action, was told that's something Harbaugh will have to answer at next media avail. ...

Asked if they're on the team, was told "they're on the roster" -- which they are.

Official response from the program when I asked was: They had "other commitments."

Have now been asked multiple times why Ahmir Mitchell, Kareem Walker and Shelton Johnson aren't in Michigan's team photo ...

Not too concerned. If it were anything major they wouldn't be on the roster.

If it's something like grades, hopefully this is a wake up call to take the student part seriously. Especially to the freshman.

If it's something else, maybe missing the photo is part of the punishment. Regardless there's plenty of time for them to get their shit together before the season, especially since none will be major contributors.

Maybe I'm in the minority. But I'm fine with sitting players if they don't live up to their commitment from a grades, law, etc standpoint. I'm even ok with it if it indirectly results in a loss or two. I guess I'm a bit old school. But my love for Michigan goes beyond athletics. If you don't represent my school properly I don't care how fast you run or how high you jump. That's just my two cents. Bring the discipline Harbaugh. Love it.

From a comment by Seth in another thread.

""People have noticed the two guys rumored to be involved in an off-field incident this summer aren't in the photo. There's a few others missing too, which I would not read much into. When I was trying to pull photos of the 1964 team for my opening graphic of the '64 article in 2014's HTTV I couldn't find one of the players I wanted and the Bentley guys said usually if there's a guy missing it's because he had class that day."

Sam said this was a "make or break" year for Johnson on his radio show.  Said you wouldn't hear anything about him this year and he had some work to do.  Fits in the general theme of him being in the doghouse.  Combined with the lack of weight gain (212 for a DE), you get a picture of a guy working his way out of the system

I believe Walker will be fine. I hope he can fix the grade issue fast. He could be a contributor this year if he puts in the work.

Johnson and Mitchell dont really worry me. They need more time in the program to bulk up (Johnson) and adjust to their positions. Hopefully these issues will be over by next year for them.

Walker's situation is not that big of a deal. But it's a typical freshman thing. Mitchell is in the doghouse right now, so we won't be seeing him this season. And Sheldon Johnson that one is interesting.

When you are freaking out about who's not in a team photo, it's time to chill.  People had Ahmir on his way out back in June because of what they read on a message board or heard from someone playing Counter Strike.  Can we let some 17-18 year olds go through some things without delving too deeply into it.  Harbaugh knows what's going on and that's good enough for me.

Same. I got a warning letter after the first semester. The transition can be rough. Hopefully they take advantage of all of the opportunities for academic help and guidance they have and learn to excel, if that is the issue.
