But my favorite was Wheatley. In fact, he's my favorite Wolverine of all time. I'm a Giants fan too so I will always hate Dan Reeves with the hate of 1000 wars for setting his career back 5 years. They were a lot of fun to watch!

This Walker kid looks a Sammy Watkins type athlete with power. If they can get him and you have Peppers playing a third down back as a junior, holy crap. Then you have the whole stable of backs as seniors like Green and Smith. Wow dudes. They will be the best offense in the country once again with senior and junior offensive lineman and some damn good receivers/tight-ends. Hope the defense is right there with them.

Gardner as a WR (not saying he shouldn't be QB) a lot of programs see JP as a Reggie Bush clone more than an island CB or any DB. Many wanted him to essentially be an all purpose offensive weapon. HB, slot, KR, PR

With Jim Smith at wingback.

The 1947 backfield with Bob Chappuis (AA), Bump Elliot (AA), Howard Yerges (All Big 10) and Jack Wiesenburger (with Kempthorn, Dworsky and Derricotte as backups; Pete Elliott was AA the next year but hardly saw the field in '47} may have set the standard.

It's hard to beat that 1993 collection of talent but 1989 (Tony Boles, Jarrod Bunch, Leroy Hoard) and 1997 (Chris Howard, Clarence Williams, Anthony Thomas plus future pro bowl LB Ian Gold) were also very impressive.

2006 has some impressive talent (Hart, Carlos Brown, Kevin Grady, Jerome Jackson, Brandon Minor) and may have challenged for the top spot with better luck / health and a more even distribution of carries.

Upvoted for reality.

We don't even have a 400 yard rusher on the roster now and suddenly we will have the best RB crew in UM history? (I remember this exact same comment about the 2015+ OL based on the 2012/2013 OL classes - manball, Alabama running game etc)

Let's wait until someone - anyone - gets 1000 yards.   I like all these prospects but prospects are just that.  Right now, Mike Hart alone in any of his 4 years is a better backfield than what we currently have on the roster + committed recruits based on production.

rock star already to some of these kids. It's good to see they are buddies from home. The recruiting of this staff is truly a maize n. They really know what they are looking for and how to build a team. I'm looking forward to watching this staff recruit when we start winning.

Hopefully they can get him and a couple more NJ kids. There's a lot of talent there, and if that pipeline can get stronger it'll be awesome.

I'm curious to see the effects of Rutgers joining the Big 10 and its impact on percentage of highly touted NJ recruits choosing Big 10 schools.  Top Jersey kids always had Penn State, but now it seems they'll be growing up with more of a B1G presence and be exposed more to schools like UM, MSU, OSU, etc.

I think you already see it, ND, PSU, Michigan and OSU have already been dipping in and getting the best players there. Obviously PSU and ND have been doing that for years, but I think it's open season in the "State of Rutgers".

“Not this fall,” he regarding future visits. “I’m just focused on the season. I haven’t really talked about going anywhere else. For now I’m just focused on the season.”

Walker would definitely be a nice get, and I am glad he enjoyed his time in Ann Arbor (chose a great time of the year to come here certainly), but I do have to say that I admire that he is focused on the present like this. Actually, I think Peppers did something similar and just focused on his game at that point in time and then made his decision later. If he does choose Michigan, I think we get just that much better and more focused a player then...sort of like Peppers. It's a nice thought indeed.

Hopefully you're right, and he picks Michigan and stars in Ann Arbor.

But many said the same things about Kevin Grady and even Derrick Green.  It may be too soon to crown him.

That said, impressive highlights for anyone, let alone a sophomore!
