I was thinking about this yesterday.  The one small silver lining I can see is it at least seems as though the broader community (students/alumni/fans, etc.) are much more together than they were in 2010.  That was the worst part of 2010, we were all fighting with each other in a very polarized way.

It is much different. Rich Rodriguez didn't win enough games, but he at least wasn't so incompetent that he put a player's health in serious danger. And there was no negligent bullshit spewing from Brandon's office. This is a much deeper problem and people are acknowledging that.

I referred to how many people view MGoBlog to get a pulse on the average Michigan fan. It's crazy to see that minutes later an entire article is written about a thread on here.

Our own posters have comments that are quoted. Pretty cool - even if it's just MLive and they're always on here and we're always over there.

I just don't see any way Brandon can continue as AD under the current conditions. He has lost all support. He should do the honorable thing and tender his resignation to the board of regents.

His ego is too big to resign.  And as many have pointed out, the president is not likely to step either.  The outlook right now on the athletic director is bleak.  The only hope is that the regents step in.  They are pseudo-politicians so maybe public pressure can make them act.

This is incredible, in a good way.  Is there any precedent for a fanbase advocating the ouster of the AD? I don't recall ever hearing about it from other schools... that in itself should tell the Regents what they need to know.

If I weren't already on casll for the week I would be buying a palne ticket right now to fly to Michigan and attend this. Honestly, good for any of you who will be attending this very worthwhile cause. Hopefully it will yield some results! Fire this clown!

Any chance that all this attention will just look like a mob to the administration?  And they'll not want to be overly reactionary? They will weather the storm, and reevaluate at a later time?  Or even worse, they'll stick by Brandon/Hoke to "defend their own" or because they won't give into a mob?

Not saying it will/won't, but just wondering.

I signed the petition.  I think he needs to go.

I think this is justified, but the fact that it seems like a mob mentality could be the problem.

I'm just quesitoning if the administration/president will see this as a mob flare up, or a short term problem to hunker down and make it through, an "us against them" mentality.  I'm not familiar with Schlissel, but I'm just putting that out there as a possibility, because I see things like that happen.  Especially in sports.
