Sir Patrick Scott Decommits
I mean, obviously. We never get the A-level names. Whither Leviticus Payne?
MD CB Sir Patrick Scott has decommitted:
I'd like to announce an update on my recruitment. pic.twitter.com/QyFiLnENmD

Scott's departure leaves Michigan's class at 23 currently with a few more yet-to-be-announced departures expected for various reasons.
FL CB Antwaine Richardson and FL S Josh Metellus are the remaining defensive backs in the class; Michigan is pursuing CA CB David Long, MI CB Lavert Hill, NJ CB Jordan Fuller, and PA S Khaleke Hudson, and would take two or three depending on how other things shake out.

FFS. This is behind a paywall but I hope Wiltfong doesn't mind:
"Unfortunately it didn't work out. He wanted to go to Michigan. Michigan liked him."
Meanwhile I've been asking people to read between the lines on official visits, or the lack thereof, for weeks. This is not Michigan dumping a kid for no reason.
January 13th, 2016 at 5:40 PM ^
The facts have changed and my opinion has changed.
Now I just feel bad for everyone involved.

unfortunately, that's never been a strength of mine. All I see is white space. Can someone clue me in on what I'm supposed to see between the lines? Sorry for being clueless.

I can see why you'd want to leave that info between the lines.

Sorry to be selfish, but I don't know what's worse: losing a 6-1 CB or losing an all-name team candidate.

We'll always have Iris Macadangdang as an alumni. 2009 NOTY finalist.
January 13th, 2016 at 5:28 PM ^
so is this good?
January 13th, 2016 at 5:31 PM ^
I wouldn't call it "good", but I don't think many are panicking about this decommitment (though we do need a new Name of the Year commit).
January 13th, 2016 at 5:32 PM ^
I couldn't immediately remember his profile and whether or not he was a space filler or a need.
Agree on a name of the year recruit though

I wish him well and am interested in seeing where he ends up.

...as expected.
Good luck to Scott. We have plenty of other great DBs who the staff obviously thinks more highly of. This bodes well for Long's pending commitment.

Good luck to you, Sir.

Great Scott, this post was funny!

It is what it is. I hope that everyone is respectful and wishes him the best!

Better that this happen now. Hopefully he'll land in a good spot.

Hope he finds a good school to attend for 4 years and get a degree.
He's got the size and ability to jam at the line, and has skills adjusting to throws downfield. He'll be a force for a different team, unfortunately.
Hope he succeeds wherever his journey takes him.

he did not take any official visits anywhere. Not even Michigan.
You can not take an official NCAA visit unless your grades are in good standing. Michigan wanted him in the class and didn't push him out. Put it together.
January 13th, 2016 at 5:55 PM ^
I hope this means HELLO DAVID LONG. (I also want Hudson ... )
Brian has hinted without saying so if you dont go on official visits you dont have the grades. SPS has not been on any official visits. Ergo...
January 13th, 2016 at 8:48 PM ^
that I thought you were Brian for some reason

I can completely understand where he's at. Michigan has a legit shot at both Long & Hill. It has to be tough when a team might just recruit you to the bench before you even get to campus.
Wishing him well in his career, save for any games he may play against Michigan of course. (Have to believe that Maryland will be in play for him.)
