One Frame At A Time: Indiana Comment Count

Ace

Originally, this just contained the McGary "SOON" text until I sent it to Brian:

Brian: first one needs to have like three paragraphs of text from horford about existentialism

Me: I can do that

Brian: YES

Me: Taoism work? [link]

Brian: YES

Me: excellent

Brian: Amazing

HONORABLE MENTION

GOOD GOD, TROY WILLIAMS. No seriously that dunk temporarily destroyed everythingStauskas stepback and Indiana bench trollingGRIII knew this was goodSpike Albrecht's hustle is not rewardedAndrew Dakich, wide receiver. Jordan Morgan block and stellar outletMister Fantastic 1-3-1 steal/score. Spike loses all faith in officiating, everythingTom Crean outdoes his mentorWoodson photobomb.

10. First Cut

Well deserved.

9. Various Dakich Reactions To Stauskas Shots

That seems like an unnecessary number of times to holster your guns, but do what you do, Dakich. When you manage to steal the show after this series of moves? Once-in-a-lifetime talent.

I have no idea what that is, but I know it's great.

Alternate angle of Stauskas weaving through the Indiana defense.

8. Various Dakich Reactions To GRIII Shots

GRRRRRROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

The repertoire is astounding.

7. LeVert Creates Dakich Bobblehead

Safe to say Stanford Robinson wasn't prepared for that move.

6. All Morgan Everything

Sometimes when you're on...

...you're really f***ing on...

...and your friends, they sing along...

...and they love you.

Yes, more from Dakich. More from J-Mo a little later.

5. John Beilein Technical Foul Spectacularr

The setup: following the ultimate ball-don't-lie Caris LeVert three after the officials chose the worst possible time to reset the shot clock, an obvious shove and a blatant travel put John Beilein—yes, that John Beilein—over the edge:

As Stauskas holds Beilein back, watch the men in the courtside seats thoroughly enjoying this unexpected display of RAAAAAAAGE:

In the end, Beilein was succinct, and also terrifying:

Agreed.

4. GRIII Go-Ahead Dagger Gets Ultimate Seal Of Approval

Hell of a time for that shot, Mr. Robinson.

3. Flawless Pick & Roll

Stares right into the camera, goes for the gold anyway. Delightful.

2. J-Mo Is Pleased With His Work

Incredible pass, great finish... better celebration:

You can see the moment his confidence reaches 11. What a Senior Day.

Troy Williams had some great dunks in that game.

But seriously guys can someone find a picture of Jon Horford smiling? Is it possible? Can it be done?

The Woodson photobomb pic is as close as I've seen, but he's got his hand to his chin so its at best a sort of philosophical half-smile about how easily the faces of worldy beings belie their attachment to fleeting circumstantial emotion when blind to the cyclical unity of nature.

Right after GR3 makes the game winner against Purdue, everyone jumps on top of GR3 except for Jon but he slowly walks and claps towards them and flashes the SLIGHTEST smirk. That is my only recollection of his smile.

Edit: There is a more visible shot if you wait a few seconds after they all huddle up and then you can see just Jon's face with what appears to be a smile.

he didn't make much effort to keep 2 feet in bounds and he did not make a football move before flipping it to the ref, gotta make sure to complete the process

the last gif with McGary looking up at the end looks so freaking hilarious.

Also, the last JMO gif where he's walking/smirking with confidence made me smile myself. This year has been a whole lot of fun and I have a feeling the tournament is going to be even more fun. I can't even begin to fathom how many awesome Dakich celebrations we could be in store for.

It's just implying that McGary has been on the bench all season listening to Horford philosophy of philosophy itself and he's ready to return...soon.

It's funny because that's pretty much what McGary's face is saying...like he's tuning Jon out and he's just like "damn, I can't wait to come back."

The MGoInsideJoke comes from...every game there seems to be a picture of McGary and Horford and they're displaying the exact OPPOSITE emotion. Usually it's McGary excited about something and Horford is stonefaced. Other times it's like this and Horford is trying to talk about something and McGary is like "sigh...I don't care about the Ukraine...I want to play BASKETBALL."

If you know the point of balance, You can settle the details.

If you can settle the details, You can stop running around.

If you can think in front of a tiger, You will surely succeed."

The being of the phenomenon, although coextensive with the phenomenon, can not be subject to the phenomenal condition - which is to exist only in so far as it reveals itself - and that consequently it surpasses the knowledge which we have of it and provides the basis for such knowledge. - Jean-Paul Sartre

Horford:

The chaplain had mastered, in a moment of divine intuition, the handy technique of protective rationalization, and he was exhilarated by his discovery. It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character."

I can't find anything related to short-to-intermediate makes by GRIII causing severe curvature of the spine. Were there any views of the elder Dakich during those shots? Perhaps it's hereditary...

Maybe I'm wrong, but it sure looks like Stauskas said "Stop" to Beilein after letting go of him. You know a guy who can say that to his coach while his coach is livid has to have his coach's respect. Stauskas is a great player and has swag for miles, but his ability to settle everyone down and lead when needed is a trait of his that garners far too little mention.

If only Dakich had been on the team last year for those huge shots during the tournament, we would have a lifetime of GIFs at which to marvel.

it was very hard not to choose Jordan Morgan cutting down the nets, but it was even harder to pick which of the Dakich GIF's to pick as the best one.
