Hogan Hansen Has Committed to Michigan Comment Count

Alex.Drain December 8th, 2022 at 3:17 PM

Today Michigan Football landed its fourth commit for the 2024 recruiting class, and it's third inside the top 300 of the composite in TE Hogan Hansen

Hansen hails from Bellevue, Washington, and is a consensus 4* prospect. He is listed at 6'5", 200 lbs. and had offers from PAC-12 giants like Washington and Oregon, in addition to Stanford and Auburn. Hasnen is ranked as the #17 TE in the country and #280 overall in the On3 Consensus rankings, while 24/7's composite has him at #267 nationally and the #15 TE. Hansen represents another recruiting win that is helping build momentum for the 2024 class, needed after a rocky experience in 2023. There is no content after the jump.

Welcome,

Hogan Hansen,

to the team that formerly included

Hassan Haskins,

at the university formerly led by

Harlan Henthorne Hatcher.

It's an H of a day!

Not much of a uniform change for him. Bellevue's mascot is the Wolverines and they have similar colors and uniforms as Michigan including the helmets. In the past they've been a running team but they may pass more these days.

This picture was from last year's 3A championship game which they won. This year's team lost in the semifinals to eventual champion Yelm 28-27 when they gave up a touchdown with 35 seconds to go after a 94 yard drive. They've been a perennial power but a few years ago they were given a 4 year suspension and had to vacate 2 state titles after booster and recruiting violations. They now have 11 titles (13 total).

"needed after a rocky experience in 2023"... sigh, I wistfully look at the hordes of top players committed to places like Miami, ND, TA&M and think, "surely there is still time to rescue 2023."

But, yeah, there isn't.

Maybe some of the student section will dress up as Hogan's Heroes, but probably not because they'll have no idea what Hogan's Heroes is. Either way, welcome and Go Blue!

A 6'6" kid who can block effectively and makes an impact as an EDGE. Maybe he bulks up to 260-ish and pretends to be Hutch? If he can catch and run, it would also be cool to have a monster TE, of course.

BOOM!  Another player for a championship team!  This 2024 class will help keep Michigan football as perennial National Championship contender!

Also, I have a sneaking suspicion this 2023 class is going to finish better than expected.  Coaching turnover creates opportunity.
