To Which M-Clan Do You Belong?

Submitted by MGoShoe on

Over at MVictors.com, Greg Dooley has collaborated with Craig Barker of The Hoover Street Rag (aka MGoUser Yostal) and MVictors contributor Lew to develop:

...what “we” look like at [this] given point in Michigan history.

Clan descriptions at the MVictors link above.

I put myself squarely in the Fierce Pragmatists camp with a dash of Decatur (natch). How about you? Of course, if you're looking at this, you're also an Obsessive in Craig's 80-10-10 casual-serious-obsessive breakdown, so don't even bother with that. That is, as they say, a given.

One foot firmly in the pragmatists, another (due to age) in with Bo, a hand in with the Rebellion, and another in with In Rod We Trust.

Mostly Cotton Pickin' Blues with a touch of Fierce Pragmatists and sympathies for The Rebellion and In Rod We Trusted. I'm on board with Hoke after seeing how he's handled himself the past two days and the fact that he got Denard to stay. I do hope Hoke carries forward some of the offensive creativity from the RichRod era (even after Denard has left) while installing a defense that can actually, you know, tackle and what not. I DO NOT want to see a full-on reversion to the Carr era. I'm still very disappointed in Brandon's mismanagement of the process. I liked Rodriguez and I don't think he was ever treated fairly by the old guard and the media, but I thought he needed to be let go after the Ohio State game and was convinced beyond a doubt after the Gator Bowl.

Also, I like marshmallows.

Eh . . . a mixture of a lot of them.  My general instinct is to rally around the guy in charge, but my pool of blind support is not unlimited.  I agree with most of the Fierce Pragmatist description/outlook, except that, post-OSU, I wanted a coaching change.  When it was clear that Brandon himself was not sold on RR (as evidenced from his post-OSU comments), I feared going into 2012 with an obvious lame duck for a coach.  The program could not have taken another year of uncertainty.

Thought they did an excellent job with the brakdown.  Only group that I didn't really see was the "not good enough" group.  This is the group of fans that no matter what happens feel they have to complain that it wasn't good enough.  If we were to win 13 games next year they would complain that in five of those games we only won by 3 points or less.

Just had a thought this would make a great Tshirt.  The pie chart on the back and what catagory you fall into on the front.  When you start talking to people at tailgate or game you already have a good idea where they are coming from.

lloyd loyalty - he was the coach when I was a kid and I think he did a great job for the majority of his term - and also a bit of RR support.  I feel bad about the RR era, for him, but also for the players, it has been a rough few years on so many levels.

I am definitely a mix of the The Rebellion and In Rich Rod We Trust clans. I definitely believe members of the Lloyd cronies harpooned Rich from day one by aggressively negative recruiting against their alma mater and spreading lies and innuendo to the FREEP. Lloyd may have not harpooned Rich but he sure didn't try to stop it.

That was a fun article.

I'm probably with the Cotton Pickin' Blues clan. We'll probably make chili in the later part of the season. :) I do have some sympathy for Rich Rod and wish that he had done a bit better during his time here.
