Michigan Stadium under the lights!
I know that it isn't news to anyone, but the stadium looks great with the new lights. A few of the wide shots from the hockey game look amazing. It's really exciting for the Notre Dame game next year.

Useless.

Look at the bright side, he has 109 points, he probably won't have enough to start another thread once the people here get through with him.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:36 PM ^
Why don't you surrender some of your points. Your response sucked much more then his post.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:37 PM ^
That's what I'm saying. I think the lights look pretty badass as well.

December 11th, 2010 at 6:14 PM ^
What do points have to do with it section 8?
December 11th, 2010 at 10:57 PM ^
By 109 points, do you mean 276 points?
December 11th, 2010 at 5:22 PM ^
Apologies for being excited about something new to Michigan. This is the first night event at Michigan Stadium since the expansion. At least it's not another whining CC post.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:23 PM ^
True. At least it isn't a coaching search thread. However, there is a Big Chill thread for this type of observation.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:27 PM ^
Perhaps you're right. No sarcasm this time. I'm happy to let it slide off the board.
December 11th, 2010 at 7:23 PM ^
Is there a "coaching search" going on?
December 11th, 2010 at 8:11 PM ^
I'm so sick of these cry babies on here "there is already a thread for this". Look if you know what this thread is then dont fucking read it! What the fuck is the harm in there being God for bid 2 whole threads on a subject. I use to love the message boards here but anymore half the post is about "there is already a thread about this",fuck get over it! "neg" me fucking day,i dont give shit about mgoblog points, plus I wont be posting on here more anyways. Peace out cry babies go fuck yourselfs.
December 11th, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
I believe there is already a thread about being unhappy with people pointing out reposts.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:22 PM ^
I have heard from a few non-Michigan media people who say that it is now the finest football facility in the country. The power and resources of the University is astounding.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:26 PM ^
another gripe post during a football beatdown by one of our rivals. Nothing wrong with an excited thread start. It's the first time in a while we have looked this good on the big stage in a major sporting event. Good for you Louisville.
December 11th, 2010 at 6:13 PM ^
I thought he would have a picture of it when I clicked. Let. Down.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:32 PM ^
I think the "useless" part is the fact that there are no pictures. And without pictures, it's like he's describing music to a deaf man. In sign language.
December 11th, 2010 at 7:41 PM ^
Wouldn't it be sensible to use sign language when describing music to a deaf man?
Just sayin'. 'Cos you can't sign on Mgoblog...
December 11th, 2010 at 5:34 PM ^
Are there any aerial shots of the stadium with the lights on?
December 11th, 2010 at 8:00 PM ^
That looks incredible, should be a site to see when Notre Dame comes to Michigan next year.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:52 PM ^
Not an aerial but a good picture nonetheless
December 11th, 2010 at 5:54 PM ^
The thread is no longer useless. I have reversed the point on the OP and posbanged your other posts.
I'll embed the pic for you as well:

Since you were right about the initial post I "+'d" all your posts as well.

I wish they had given them an L, not fits.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:49 PM ^
Recruits had to have loved that atmosphere. The lights, the fireworks, the crowd, and of course, the outcome of the game. Man, I really wish I could have been there.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:51 PM ^
How great is good? What a venue for an incredible event. Higher attendance than any ever football game. WTF? Unbelievable!

There will be some good shots on SportsCenter over the next 18 hours or so
December 11th, 2010 at 6:20 PM ^
A great game, and hopefully the recruits on campus were sufficiently wowwed. Happy to see UM take the lead on this type of marketing/promotional avenue.
December 11th, 2010 at 6:33 PM ^
I would think the recruits reaction would be something like "Holy Shit.....if these crazy bastards get this fired up over a freaking hockey game of all things can you imagine what this place is like when we're playing football in it?"
December 11th, 2010 at 8:24 PM ^
I totally agree. Don't discount the fact that the coaches can point to the stands and say that this type of turnout happens basically every week at Michigan, and how big a deal this could be to kids who come from towns with 1/10 the number of people in the entire city.
December 11th, 2010 at 6:54 PM ^
I like that they fit the stadium and done stick up in a big cluster like most lights. The lights do not take away from the renovation, good design.
December 11th, 2010 at 7:37 PM ^
looking lights I recall seeing. Other than embedding them in the facades, I don't know how they could be better.
December 11th, 2010 at 7:28 PM ^
Cool could ever get in the history of mankind.
December 12th, 2010 at 12:37 AM ^
I know that these lights are just temporary, so does anyone know what the permanent ones will look like for next year? I thought they lit the stadium tremendously, but I think they could make them look more aesthetically pleasing.
December 12th, 2010 at 12:43 AM ^
Those are the permanent lights. I actually think they look better than having light towers stick up all over the place, but I wasn't there to see them in person so I can't really say.
What do you think they could do to make them look better?
December 12th, 2010 at 12:42 AM ^
It looked awesome. Also fun to beat the crap out of sparty. Great day!
