What Paterno did was maybe "legally sufficient" to avoid criminal responsibility, but it was morally reprehensible. Why would you mitigate knowing kids are being sexually assaulted and failing to report that to the authorities to an "error in judgment"? Paterno could have made sure a predator was held accountable and could have prevented further abuse--he didn't. |
