You decide if it's inspirational or a plea for another chance
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:43 AM ^
It's good to be able to listen.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:10 PM ^
Glad so many of you are enjoying it.
December 3rd, 2010 at 1:14 PM ^
I dont have enough points to start a thread, but JIM ROME IS F-ING RIPPING US APART RIGHT NOW (and it is hilarious/true).
We're a f-ing national joke right now.
Get rid of this f-ing dbag
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
Please be quiet.
December 4th, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
go fuck urself faggot
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:06 PM ^
a lot, that speech gave me chills. Anyone who doesn't respect him and support him as our coach and leader right now is not all in. You either live, die, laugh, and cry with your team and coaches or get bent. I pray dave brandon has the logic to keep him around. He's a good man. And one hell of an offensive guru. I never thought i would say this but life is more than wins and losses. Sometimes great things take time, i believe this is one of them.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:43 AM ^
Nice speech. I like the guy and he has legitimate points.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:45 AM ^
I'm proud that this man is our coach! No matter what happens moving forward, he will always be a Michigan Man to me.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:47 AM ^
its a good speech
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:47 AM ^
behind a paywall? Nothing is coming up for me.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:49 AM ^
Did you click on the "Rich Rodriguez Speech" link on the page?
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:04 PM ^
that was it. I was using Firefox.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:33 PM ^
Works on Firefox for me.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:18 PM ^
Not working on mac. What are you guys using to play it?
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:59 PM ^
But I didn't, but it still worked. But it's just a thin play/pause/volume/load line at the bottom of a blank white screen.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:48 AM ^
RichRod lets kids in his pool with no adult supervision or lifevests!!
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:50 AM ^
I'm gonna be so disappointed if he gets fired. I don't know what the best decision will be for the product on the field, but even through all the shit he's had to deal with he's still able to be so committed to this program. I hate this whole situation.
December 3rd, 2010 at 1:04 PM ^
I'll Third
December 3rd, 2010 at 1:54 PM ^
and it especially sucks that he (and we) go through the suffering and disappointment of the last three seasons, and juuuuuust when he has the offense totally loaded and primed to wreak havoc in year 4 it looks like we are going to pull the plug.
And even if he does come back, he still loses a prime recruit who would be perfect for his offense b/c the announcement didn't come quickly enough. This after beating out Florida, Auburn, and Alabama for his services.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:56 AM ^
It's fucked up. I feel like the Comedian in The Watchmen right now.
December 3rd, 2010 at 1:08 PM ^
Or after all that's gone on, do you feel more like this?
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:05 PM ^
the past 3 years have been a cluster-f
and I think he admits this, but I do think he cares and should be given 1 more chance
December 3rd, 2010 at 3:24 PM ^
I am with you all the way on this one but to me he is still on his first chance. No way a coach gets canned before he has recruits that are actual upper classmen. Fucking busch league if it happens.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:30 PM ^
This is exactly how I feel. I'm just consoling myself with the fact that I can also be a fan of wherever he goes if he does get fired. Not really that comforting.
December 3rd, 2010 at 1:04 PM ^
At times I feel bad for RR and think that he's gotten something of a raw deal. He certainly hasn't been treated very well. On the other hand, he's brought a lot of it on himself (defense, special teams, Sheridan over Threet, probation....). The reality is that the team should not be as bad as it is and he has to answer for that on some level.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:52 AM ^
Yea that was really a good laugh guys. Funniest shit since 9/11.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:55 AM ^
What?
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:57 AM ^
RE: The posts earlier that thought it was so fucking funny that he played the song at the bust. Really fucking funny, guys. Hysterical.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:59 PM ^
Ah, I didn't catch that. What song did he play?
Also, I love inside jokes. I hope to be a part of one someday.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:50 PM ^
is that you Dwayne Wade?
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:54 AM ^
He's so right when he says that the defense had struggles but never gave up. That's what I love about our team.
Look at Indiana against Wisconsin giving up 83 points. The Indiana D completely quit.
That has never happened under RR.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:54 AM ^
I love this.
"Our times coming. Our times coming and it's coming in a big way. We'll let people jump on the bandwagon. That's okay. They may not have a front seat but they'll jump on the back."
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:54 AM ^
you not like this guy? There has been so much hate for this man in the media and such but he is such a genuine guy, you can just tell by the way he talks and you can tell he truely loves Michigan. You could tell he spent a lot of time on this speech and it came right from his heart.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:59 AM ^
One more year. One more year. Ten more years. Ten more years.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:59 AM ^
I really wish there was video. I want to see the reaction when he plays the song.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:04 PM ^
Do you really want to see that reaction??
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
just think of the .gifs that chunkums could make.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:02 PM ^
A great speech, a great coach, and he will be here a for a long time.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:06 PM ^
I hope you are right but the signs don’t look good and that makes me sad.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:13 PM ^
All we know it that the AD is going to stick to his timetable to discuss the season with the coach after it is over. That means to me that the sign is that all the noise and hoopla is a lot of hand-wringing over nothing. The AD and the coach will discuss what to do next and the AD will formalize in writing during the review what he has been telling the coach all along all season long.
That's how real companies that have been successful over time and real executives who have been successful over time operate. This is all about teaching the MSM, our fan base, our players, and our entire athletic department about how the ship is going to be run by DB going forward in all sports, not just football.
That;s the kind of intelligent and professional personnel management I would expect from a man with DB's education and experience. Contrast that with Goss and Martin's handling of various situations relating to coaches over the past decade or so......
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:03 PM ^
He prefaces that the song is cheesy... but the theme of his speech matches the song exactly.
THanks for posting this. Fantastic speech.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:47 AM ^
Yeah, I like that he had the cajones to play a Josh Groban song to a room of football types. He seemed to know that it's probably not the type of thing they were expecting.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
You know he is right. If you look at our record during his tenure, you think worse coach in Michigan history. What you don't see is all the challenges this team has faced. I think people don't realize how difficult it would be to make for example Wisconsin into a spread team. Sure he has made mistakes, (see Defensive Coordinator hiring), but everyone makes mistakes. The people you are hire don't always turn out the way you think they will. It happens all the time in life. I look at our offense and see joy for the future with RR at the helm. We have one of the youngest teams in college right now. We have the same record as (wait for it), FLORIDA who won the national championship just a few years ago and didn't change their head coach. I think we should give him one more year. If the teams record improves again, we should keep him and be glad that we kept him. Sure Harbaugh looks like the hotter girl right now, but go back to when we hired RR and he looked pretty hot too. Lets not forget that. RR might not have been a Michigan insider, but he exemplifies a Michigan Man. The guy benched his ONLY punter on the day of the biggest day of the year to send a message, No man is above the program.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:18 PM ^
I'm very proud to call him our coach. He's not only coaching these boys about football but also life.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
Through all of the trials and tribulations, Rich Rodriguez has held fast. He has led his team and he has been a fine example and role model for us all. God bless you, RichRod.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
His speech wasn't as bad as it was made out to be, but it wasn't particularly good either.
He needs some motivation and inspiration.
This sucks.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:42 PM ^
I think you're pretty much alone on this one.
