Mens Basketball vs Bowling Green Open Thread
Just thought I would get this started for those who are watching the game. Michigan up 3-2 early.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:15 PM ^
Solid commentary there.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:15 PM ^
I was thinking the same thing. They do a good job.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:21 PM ^
One thing I don't like is them calling Bowling Green "BG". I don't know why but it bugs me.
November 18th, 2010 at 8:25 PM ^
It bugs me because it reminds me of Brandon Graham. I have to keep reminding myself what they are talking about when I get confused as to why they are bringing up Brandon Graham.
November 18th, 2010 at 8:54 PM ^
Besides, I thought the Bee Gee's were largely over-rated.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:15 PM ^
but when you said BGSU vs. Michigan, I had flash backs. Sheer Wizardry:
November 18th, 2010 at 7:19 PM ^
Its going to be a long year in the b10 if BG is playing ping-pong on the backboard.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:22 PM ^
Hopefully it doesn't become a huge issue.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:25 PM ^
TEEEEEESHIRT TIME!!!
November 18th, 2010 at 7:35 PM ^
WHOOOOO WANTS A FRRRREEEEEE PIZZAAAA??!?!?!?!?!!!
November 18th, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
Anyone find a live stream onliine?
November 18th, 2010 at 7:28 PM ^
I searched everywhere. If you find one let me know. Right now I am listening from mgoblue.com.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
Well surely someone in the MGoBlogosphere has the wherewithall to make one... It's for a good cause after all.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
In the HOUSE!
November 18th, 2010 at 7:28 PM ^
Rocking the 3. Hopefully he gets his stroke back this year. Yes mrlmichael, them saying BG is getting annoying.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
Let's hope they all get their strokes back.
Evan Metrics draining early, too.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
argument that Novak will be a better shooter as his defensive responsibilities shift more in line with his size. Less work guarding guys with 40 pounds on him has got to keep his legs fresher.
As for Stu. Well. I don't know about 3-pt shooting, but I've seen him make at least one two-point field goal this year so he's already doing better than last year.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:30 PM ^
As long as we can shoot the 3. I think we can be decent this year.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:32 PM ^
Knocking down the 3 is so important in this system.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:34 PM ^
First game I've actually seen this season. First impressions...
- Morris looks much more complete than he was last year.
- Vogrich still looks outmanned.
- Morgan looks like he should be tough inside.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:41 PM ^
by what Jordan Morgan has brought so far. Not saying he's a star by any means, or even above average, but for a (RS) freshman he looks like he'll at least be some kind of impediment for inside scorers. He at least has some weight (Horford, I'm looking at you...)
....and as I write this he just shot one of the ugliest free throws I've seen in a while
November 18th, 2010 at 7:56 PM ^
Morgan would have been a big help for the team last year; would have let Sims play more at the 4. Vogrich can clearly shoot, but he has to be stronger with the ball. Hardaway Jr is going to be getting more of his PT unless he plays stronger.
Add to those thoughts that Metrics can hopefully keep up these 3 balls.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:35 PM ^
Morris looks visibly stronger this year. Good sign.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:59 PM ^
way more confident. i think that's huge for a point guard.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
Wow...what a free throw attempt...
November 18th, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
He looks to have the potential to be a solid big man down low. Something Michigan really needs...
November 18th, 2010 at 7:43 PM ^
I'm not watching the game (just listening), but please tell me Shaq changed his name and has eligibility, b/c that cat is killing us right now.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:44 PM ^
Horford looks incredibly small, but he definitely looks like he could grow into a very good B10 player. Moves well, and add 20 lbs and he could be a force.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
Throw a chair on the court. What is this? Letting the refs push us around.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:48 PM ^
Novak with severally gritty gritmeister plays already. Right in character. :)
November 18th, 2010 at 7:48 PM ^
Here we go!
November 18th, 2010 at 7:49 PM ^
Jordan Morgan is looking like a slightly more agile Graham Brown. I would take that in a heart beat.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
Making it rain tonight.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:53 PM ^
he be good. nailed an nba 3. the hype is dead on with this kid. he'll be all big 10 in the coming years. book it.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:52 PM ^
39 - 31 at the half. About what we should expect w/ the team we have this year - solid lead, but not blowing them out.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
METRICS!
November 18th, 2010 at 7:56 PM ^
Has Hardaway played?
November 18th, 2010 at 7:57 PM ^
He has 2 fouls. Had to sit most of the half (see my Beilein throwing chairs post)
November 18th, 2010 at 7:57 PM ^
Gotcha, thanks.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:57 PM ^
Nevermind, just saw umhoop's tweet that Hardaway has only played two minutes.
November 18th, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
...2 quick fouls in the first 2 min of the game and sat the rest of the half.
November 18th, 2010 at 8:04 PM ^
...to digest:
Michigan_mbball First half leaders for U-M: Smotrycz-12 points, Morris-7 assists (ties career high), Smotrycz, Morgan, and Novak-4 rebounds.
rodlbeard Michigan is shooting 15-of-27 from the field, and 6-of-11 from three. 11 assists on 15 field goals is pretty good, too.
November 18th, 2010 at 8:04 PM ^
I now Vogrich has struggled tonight, but my god that is one sweet stroke, he can help this team once he gets situated.
Darius is much improved and Stu has added a dimension to his game with the dribble drive, he just needs to stay with it.
Doesn't look like finding guys to score will be an issue this year, but rebounding could be a sore spot as well as keeping penetrators out of the lane.
November 18th, 2010 at 8:06 PM ^
Turns it over almost everytime he touches it. Then again, he hits 3s like crazy. I am going to start calling him Mouton.
November 18th, 2010 at 8:11 PM ^
loving the way Morris is playing.
DUNK IT JMO!
November 18th, 2010 at 8:22 PM ^
He's making some questionable decisions throwing up some iffy shots.
November 18th, 2010 at 8:46 PM ^
agreed with some shot selection, but 9 assists and the way he's pushing the ball has opened up a number of 3's on the wing
November 18th, 2010 at 8:15 PM ^
46 - 32, starting to assert ourselves here.
November 18th, 2010 at 8:20 PM ^
is definitely Brent Petway
November 18th, 2010 at 8:23 PM ^
Air Georgia?
Maybe in terms of offensive polish, but I'm yet to see a 48 inch vertical from Christian
