To All the Hatin' Haters
I hope we keep Rodriguez even if we lose out through the Big Ten schedule. I think this team has shown enough promise with very young talent to let him stay and develop us into a powerhouse. There wasn't a peep of doubt when we were 5-0. Now we've lost to TWO RANKED TEAMS and everyone's off the bandwagon.
I'm sporting a new avy in my support of Rich Rod (it's from the 2009 spring game, I met him in the parking lot while he was going in). I mean, Christ, everyone was going to be happy if we won 7 or 8 games this year. That's still VERY possible.
I don't think we're going to lose out, hell I think we win at least three more, because I've got faith in our players and coaches to shrug off these losses to two quality opponents and focus on the remaining schedule.
I think part of the problem was all the OMGDENARD hype (which I was a part of I'll admit) and we set ridiculous standards for this team. I knew we still had a lot of work and I wasn't expecting miracles. But these meltdowns are increasing and frankly I'm sick of you doubters. Go watch 300 and put on some green and white. Rodriguez will be let go when he deserves to be let go. But he's only lost to two ranked opponents so far this year. Why don't we start being rational?
Why the hell anyone begs for their coach to be fired is beyond me. You don't have any say in the matter (well...you shouldn't if your AD has any balls). You should be rooting your damned asses off every week and show your full support for the entire team. Now...if the coach was just plain an idiot it would be different. But that's not the case here. It's not the case at all.
We've put up crazy stats through these seven games on offense. Defense needs a lot of work, but hell Rome wasn't built in a day. Say what you want about the quality of our opponents, but how often have we had a ridiculous schedule for the first seven games?
Stop this whining or GTFO. Sorry for the rant, I'm just angered at Michigan fans and having to deal with all the pointing and laughing going on by State fans. GO BLUE.

What's next Rome wasn't built in 4 years?? 5 years lol

You don't boo the boys in Blue. Ever.
October 17th, 2010 at 1:37 AM ^
Amen, brother.
October 17th, 2010 at 1:41 AM ^
All I will say is that at this point, the sunshine blowers crowd is just as bad as the "haters gonna hate" crowd.
October 17th, 2010 at 1:46 AM ^
You phrased that much better than I did.
it's insane. I mean I would never boo and yes I think it's kinda lame but I'm not going to cry about it.
The season isn't over yet, it's going to be a long 2 weeks before the next game but that's what we have now.
October 17th, 2010 at 2:41 AM ^
Agreed. Mgoblog used to be the home to rational, analytical fans but it's cleaved into three factions now:
1. sunshine-blowing, rose-colored-glasses-viewing, RR-can do no wrong crowd
2. believers who have had enough and want to fire him
3. a tiny centrist crowd that thinks the first two groups are stupid and reactionary
You can probably guess which one I'm in.

The high horse one?

have said it better myself! Word Bro!

I want to punch the next person in the face that mentions Jim Harbaugh's name!!
Cheer on your team or pick a new one! Sparty has lots of bandwagon room. If I ever heard a UM fan boo at a game we would have an issue!!
October 17th, 2010 at 1:53 AM ^
Speaking of that... Anyone know who our starting QB was from 84-86? I think he coaches out west...
October 17th, 2010 at 9:25 AM ^
Shenanigans?
October 17th, 2010 at 3:48 AM ^
Is it okay to boo the other team?
October 17th, 2010 at 8:46 AM ^
No, no booing EVER. These are young kids out there. They are very sensitive and impressionable. You will hurt their feelings and then they won't take their participation trophy seriously.
October 17th, 2010 at 9:38 AM ^
Would you run home to your computer and neg them real hard? Please don't try and pretend you are even remotely tough. By the way, Jim Harbaugh, Jim Harbaugh,Jim Harbaugh,Jim Harbaugh,Jim Harbaugh,Jim Harbaugh,Jim Harbaugh,Jim Harbaugh. Now go play dungeons and dragons!
October 17th, 2010 at 9:57 AM ^
I see clearly by your point total that you can't form complete thoughts and don't know shit about Michigan athletics. But thanks for playing...You like Harbaugh so much join the Stanford bandwagon.

today there was somebody who was criticizing people who were cheering after we scored to make it 14-28 because we were still down 14. Total brah. I'm embarassed to be associated with him in any way. Some people just need to calm down and realize that we made one of the best defenses in the country look pretty meh today and despite our defense being paper thin we've yet to give up 40 points to 2 top 15 teams. We have a week to recover and prepare for a young PSU team that's looking more beatable by the day. 8-4's not out the question by any means.
So basically, yeah I agree.
October 17th, 2010 at 2:33 AM ^
Is that where our goals are now? I agree that we have the offense to compete with anyone and if we catch some breaks on D can definitely pull off a few more wins, but let's shoot a little higher.
October 17th, 2010 at 9:35 AM ^
"we have the offense to compete with anyone"???? Give me an example please. Cupcakes and Notre Dame doesn't count.
October 17th, 2010 at 3:33 AM ^
Generally I agree with your sentiment, but uh, "we haven't given up 40 points" is not really a good thing.
October 17th, 2010 at 10:18 AM ^
but at least they're showing some signs of marginal improvement, that's all I was saying.
October 17th, 2010 at 8:23 AM ^
Obviously, booing is unacceptable. Hell, I'm a Lions fan, and I've never booed even them in 40 years. But what some people claim is "hating" on here can also be a healthy dose of criticism mixed with a large slice of reality. We've all seen RR coach this team for 3 years. Yes, he was left with almost nothing in the talent department; that has at least gotten a bit better. But as the head coach, he's also supposed to be a teacher. Week after week, all I've heard is "well, those mistakes are correctable". Then why aren't they being corrected?
October 17th, 2010 at 9:33 AM ^
You are exactly right! Is it just me or does it seem like the only intelligent comments are coming from people with very few points? This blog needs to man up and stop accepting the idea that our eyes are fooling us and we really are showing improvement. Believe what you see in year number three.

but seriously the need to start a thread whinning about it. Really. Its too bad ppl boo at all agreed. Watching the team shoot themselves in the foot by turnovers is terrible. Scary thing is RR is getting his players now. Nobody figured 12-0 but losing at your own mistakes is frusturating. Guess you think its acceptable to lose evertime they enter big ten play. All everyone can hope for is the young db's watch film, correct some mistakes. Practice tackling. Denard only in his 6th start as a soph QB realizes he has to quit tapping that ball, don't second guess his reads. The week off will help the players get healthy, and practice on the little things. A win over PSU is needed, but the season will continue either way.
