I wasn't aware of this until I watched the press conference last night. Poole was referring to him as "Ham," but pronounced more like "Hahm" or "Haam" (or imagine like the "Han" in "Han Solo," but with an "M" at the end).

I was also thinking about "rhymes with Tom." But yes--just saying that it sounds like the middle part of his name would have been the best explanation. Point taken!

How will UNC feel about the stupid Michael Jordan logo on the M jerseys?

UNC has the same logo on theirs, so...

If MAAR is a devout Muslim ... and I have no idea ... he would avoid pork products. So, perhaps this is a little inside joke.

Yeah I think MAAR is simply because Mgoblog decided very early they didn't want to type "Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman" in their write ups so they shortened it to MAAR. Never heard anyone actually say that from the program.

This is odd given that, I assume (from his name), that he most likely does not consume "ham". Or bacon. Or pork chops. Wow, I'm hungry right now...

I'm not gonna worry about It.
I also believe Poole called him Hahm not Ham. Different pronunciation.
Mu ham mad.
